As Christians, we 're suppose to help spread His Word. So, yes, being a hermit would be a sin for a Christian, unless you witness online (which many do).
But, if you're being sincere, maybe you need counseling?

I love everything you love. I have spent every moment possible learning the bible.
Now that I know it, I an an isolated elderly person. I love God and Christ and their plans for mankind.
I was in an abusive relationship for 21 years, the peace is so wonderful. My husband was not the only one with ability to abuse as it can be inherited, so some people are such as 2Tim.3:1-7; and you are better off alone.
I enjoy the fruits of the spirit Gal.5:22,23; and try to share it with all possible. I love peace and as Jesus said, being a peace maker, but that is not always easy. Some
like trouble, they suspect their husband put something in their food and all their friends are against them, but it never shows or appears to be that way.
So when it is your turn, why be surprised. That is the way they are. And I find many to dislike the KJV Bible, so spreading the word is not easy.
Love it is one thing, spread it is another.
So those that get through life as we do, understand us, so talk to them most and with people other, just do the best possible to deal with it and hope that if they say things about you like they do the others, they know, that you do not know, pray they are not believed, as you can not know what is what. This example makes congregations have a problem.
It is the most any one can do in this life.
I Think we are loved to be quiet and mind our own business,
God and Christ has every one covered anyway, as well as us.
I am not lazy, I do my own yards and everything that must be done, I do it.

When each of us is Saved, we are given spiritual gifts. These gifts are for the sole purpose of edifying, building and encouraging the Body of Christ. If you stay home, you're keeping your spiritual gift(s) to yourself, which is not what you're supposed to do.
Also, Jesus commanded us to evangelize. It's not an option. How can you do this if you stay home and don't associate with people?
Given the above, I believe Jesus would not support your choice to be a "hermit," unless you have a psychiatric condition that has caused it. Whether this is something that deserves punishment, I truly do not know.
Peace.

Hebrews 10:25 affirms our responsibilities to attend God's house. Mk. 16:15 reminds us to evangelize the world. It is not really a question of sin, it's a matter of effectiveness. Are you being an effective, practical believer by not leaving the comfort of your home? Probably not, but your sincerity is commendable. God Bless You.

It depends. Hermits were okay before Christ but not exactly so after Christ. If you hate to go to church, that should be a clue......hermits were holy men....not wanting to attend worship service is sinful. What you are doing is very sinful. Now should you decide that religion is important you might want to join a monastery that leads the cloistered life. That kind of hermit is acceptable. Good luck.

You are not to neglect the assembly. That was the word from the Apostle. If you do well it's not like it was a command. Paul said it so we could grow in our faith with each other. This can also lead to a serious emotional illness. Maybe it's time to see the doctor and get checked out... Jim

It might not be a sin occasionally, but taken to extremes it is a mental illness, get counseling.
The second greatest commandment is to love our neighbor. If we have no neighbor, how can we obey that commandment?
It is selfishness and that is a sin.

The Bible says that the one isolating himself will seek his own selfish longing. From that I would assume that it could certainly lead to sin. The Bible encourages us to meet together with other true Christians to encourage one another especially as we behold the end drawing near. It would be very helpful if you could consider helping others as the motivation for stepping out.

To sin means " to miss the mark". Jesus would tell you how important community was. Jesus shared Himself with others. He would want you to do the same. If it's hard for you to do that, remember how hard it must have been for Jesus to know his actions would lead him to death.
Try taking baby steps to "hit the mark". Jesus would be proud of you.
Good luck & God bless you
