No!
Well, actually, if this God would ensure that all people were healthy, had enough food and were sheltered from the elements, and that there were no strings attached (like sacrificial lambs), then it might not be so bad. Also, if this God would just come right out and say, "Hey everyone, here I am!", well sure, that would be great.
I want nothing to do, however with the Christian or Muslim God. I think both of them are egotistical monsters. To many games, to much BS, such as praying, tithing, threats of hell, etc.

Only if He/She was truely Omniscient, Benevolent, and All Powerful. Then we wouldn't have to put up with Disease, Pestilence, Hunger, Hate, and all the other ills we currently are prey to. (No pun intended!)
Most current 'Gods' seem to inspire hatred of others and inspire crusades, jihads, pogroms, and in general not a lot of 'brotherly love'. Some actually promote that 'His/Her people' are better than the rest of the world. (Which begs the question of 'Why were these others created in the first place?'
Some 'Gods' are much better at this than others ... It must be a special 'God' who can inspire people to blow themselves up in His name, just to kill women and children. Or to inspire thousands of people to throw down their plowshares and march across thousands of miles to slay the 'infidels'.
Such madness!

everyone believes in God. Today or tomorrow everyone pray to God for forgiveness. Just as someone said 'God doesnt always like what people do, but He loves all His children.' Similarly, 'People might say they are aethist, but they call God whenever they need'.

Why wold I want a God, if I wanted to believe, I would choose between the one that are already established in society. If having this many take people to war and hate, why creating another one?

When I can't carry any more than I have, I don't wish for a third arm.
When I see a shapely woman, I don't wish for a x-ray vision.
When I need to go somewhere fast, I don't wish I could fly like superman.
I deal with reality, even when it sucks. Why would I wish for a "god"?

I suppose so. Life would be much easier for me that way. I would probably stop trying to figure out the nature of things. Instead, I would sit around just enjoying life and not worrying about anything.
(This is the "joy" that many theists have today. And I'm well aware of this, as I used to be one. Unfortunately, when the sky-daddy disappears from this equation, sitting around not worrying about anything becomes less attractive)

Yes, of course I wish it all depended on a superior intelligence. It would give me the quiet to know that I'm protected by a fair power who takes care that justice is done.
But since I cannot believe there is such power, it is pointless for me to pretend there is one and live as if it existed.

Judging from what people mean when they talk about a god, I would have to say "no".

What a very interesting question.
I'm not sure. It depends on the God. I'm not interested in one like the Christian God.
