Is Davey Jones' Locker the Pirate hades? It it hot or wet?

With all the Pirate ships I sank as a captain in the Admiralty, I was thinking about those pirates that went down to a watery grave as I gave them a broadside.

As far as I know, Davey Jones locker is a Sailor's nightmare. I believe so and I believe it is a hot, wet place of agony, if you believe in that.
