agreed.
but then I believe so I don't know. can't prove it to you if you don't see proof the same way I do. maybe that's the debate --of what qualifies as proof. . .

Yarrrr Mr. Jim sir. I don't let Zeus bother me none. Whether he exists or not is none of my concern any longer. When I die, I'll know fer sure what is what concernin all that mumbo jumbo and tripe I've been told as a child. I live my life as i like, if some pissy diety doesn't like it, he can kiss my @ss and send me to hell if such there be. I'd rather do things my way than prance around in a church like a silly little trained pony 'til I die and find out it was all a waste of my lifetime. I can't make myself believe that crap, I just can't. If I'm wrong about it, that means I was pre-destined to not ever believe, and was never truly given a chance at their stupid eternal @ss kiss version of heaven, which doesn't interest me in the least. So, win-win for me.

That debate never goes anywhere. We can't just hand over something to prove our gods and goddess'. And others can't say "see? it's not there, so therefore it doesn't exist". There's plenty of things we don't have answers for, like where'd all this crap come from to begin with? So we all rely on the answers we personally have and go from there. Though I do have to say that some of the answers I've seen from ppl who believe in gods/goddess' concerning proof of existance has been very weak. Might as well say, I can't give you proof, than to try to give such a weak argument (ie: look outside, THAT is proof) How lame is that?

There's a whole lot more than talent being wasted on debating the existence of any deity. Belief is a wonderful thing, but it's a waste of time, effort and energy when dealing with people. (Note: I believe in many things. Not all of them are facts and most of them are definately without reason. It's a lot of fun, but not worth debating.)

While I do think that after a bit it does get redundant, people like yourself find ways to bring up points creatively in a way that no one has done before and that makes it more interesting. Remember, people come to the board every day and perhaps one of them will read it and go 'oh wow great point'.

Personally, such a debate does nothing but fuel hatred amongst people. I would rather wait for either the Lord to come again or for my time on earth to end to find out whether I'm right or wrong.

Yes, and have been for awhile. Realistically, there is no way to prove or disprove of a supreme being. I just want respect of my decision not to believe.
