because you are a white belt right now, you haven't learned a lot of techniques, so you have to focus on the quality of your kicks and punches. Aim for the center of the target to improve your techniques.
In your Forms or Katas, you have to make sure that you are punching where you should (such as the bridge of the nose (in chun) or the solar plexus which is the center part of the chest just below the ribs.
I also train daily, even when I'm not in class (which is only held 2 times a week, but we have an optional third day on Sunday to train)
that is when you'll learn your techniques, it's by repeating the techniques you learn over and over again is how you'll learn to do them properly, if your instructor corrects you, he's only doing it to show you the proper place you should be or the proper look you should have.

Well I do MMA training which I am pretty sure is a lot more difficult then karate training. I try to go six days a week for an hour or more each day. No offense, but even you know its the truth about MMA training. Its not all about making your forms look nice, its about making them effective in both, the ring and streets. MMA training not only trains you standing up, but on the ground as well. AS far as i know there is no kata that takes place in the ground!!!

I train in the martial art for 3-4 hours the kata and punching. Than i train for balance and muscle mass and cardio for about another 1-2.
My kung fu is very strenuous. so usually i don't have to do cardio but i do it for fun and stretching. The key to doing your martial art is living and breathing the philosophy behind it. have fun and good luck!

I train about an hour a day, but yes as a beginner, you only know so much to practice. At your stage, work on perfecting techniques rather than strength or speed. The strength and speed will come later, but the proper technique and accuracy is much harder to master.

I train for roughly an hour or so every day....it could literally be anything.
I could break out a weapon and train some waza fot it.
I could go unarmed.
I could practice the nuances of ukemi and tobi-geri jumping....etc.
Who knows.....I could just go into the wetlands behind my home and beat on a tree for awhile.
That the thing about Taijutsu....lots and lots of things to work on, and only so much time to do it, so you need to be inventive.

Make it part of your life rather than a set of exercises to get through.
Use each session to practise one part until its perfect then move onto another. After a while join them up. Your speed and accuracy comes with being the best at each part rather than rushing through your entire knowledge base.
Progression is about you and how much you want to do not others.
