No, but they treat the same things, kind of.
ibuprofen is better for fever caused by inflammation. tylenol is not.
Plus, tylenol will kill your liver, whereas ibuprofen will just destroy the lining of your stomach.

No they are not the same Tylenol is a brand name for the generic acetaminophen and is excreted through the liver.
Ibuprophen is the generic name for the brand named "Advil", "Nupren", and "Motrin" and is processed through the Kidneys. Tylenol is good for a fever reducer, and pain but will not reduce inflamation.
Ibuprophen products will do reduce fevers, relieve pain, and also will reduce swelling. {some people find that ibuprophen irritates their stomach}
Hope this helps.

No they are not. While Tylenol is a good fever reducer it does nothing for inflammation. On the other hand Ibuprofen helps with both a fever and inflammation.
So if you just have a fever with body aches, then Tylenol will work for you, but if you have a fever and swelling and pain, your best bet would be the Ibuprofen.

Tylenol is acetominophen-- for pain and fever. Acetominophen can have harmful effects on the liver when taken in high doses. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, NSAID) used for arthritis symptoms, fever, and pain.

No. Tylenol's active ingredient is acetominophen. Ibuprofen belongs to a different class of drugs called NSAIDs. NSAID stands for non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug. Aleve (naproxen) is also an NSAID.
