Don't do it. Can cause botulism. Infused oils need to be pasteurized. Several years ago a restaurant in Vancouver caused a major outbreak by doing exactly that.

you have to heat the oil.. not to fry but to boil the garlic.. on the stove.. for a few min i would say about 5 to 8 min.. oh yeah start out by browning the garlic in a little oil first.. then add the remaining oil to pan don't 4 get to take temp. down before adding remaining oil

Yes but I would chop the garlic cloves into pieces to release the essential oils faster into the olive oil and speed the infusion process

Would you consider garlic powder? I make my own dressing for Italian sandwiches like that. It is easy, the powder doesn't rot, and you can put almost any spice in it. I have a few different ones I made in the cupboard, they get used up pretty fast, and you can cook with them too. Be creative, have fun!

Yes you can. Cut the garlic in little pieces and add that to the oil, with the time gonna get stronger. If you want to add some more spices to get a new flavour will be great.
You can store it in the fridge if you want.

Yup, that's how you do it. Make sure you mince or chop the garlic real well and let it sit. Or you can just cut whole cloves in half.
