My son is bipolar and I want to understand all I can about it. I have found a couple of sites, but they don't go into detail. Thanks for your help.

Go to about .com
about.bipolar disorder .com
bipolar support .com
You can request newsletters about children with bipolar disorder, I have researched it for two years now. It can be hereditary. They aren't really sure what causes it but feel that peolpe are born with the trait and the disorder is triggerd in adolescence or teen years thru drug use or stress due to a traumaitc event. Good luck, my daughters father has it and you have a long hard row to hoe.

Go to NAMI. It is a good site for mental health information.
