How would we know if we are going to Hell for what Adam and Eve did? Is there any way we could tell before we die?

I got some good answers! One thing comes to mind...if original sin is not real, then why do we continue to have pain in childbirth, and why do we have diseases, and shortened lifespan etc...the supposed consequences of original sin?

We have the eyewitness accounts recorded for posterity. Just as any other case before a court, the testimony that has been recorded is sufficient, and even Simon Greenleaf, the founder of Harvard Law School, stated that the evidence contained in the New Testament would stand scrutiny in a court of law. He was trying to disprove Christianity at the time.

Interesting thought. If Jesus never died, and original sin was never forgiven, then we would still be in the Old Testament. We might be industrialized still, but our faith would be credited through righteousness through our belief in God and the writings of Moses (the Torah) just as is says in Hebrews.

We may not know that we would be going to hell for what Adam and Eve did but it would be made clear to us that we would be going to hell for what WE did, if we did not accept belief in a coming Messiah to redeem us for our sins.

I often wonder who would have sinned first if Adam and Eve had lived how God wanted them to. I guess the point is that the first people were the first sinners. There is no way to live without sin apart from Christ.
Good question.

Read the Book. No, study the Book....... Therein lies the answers.

There is no ever burnning hell !!!!!!!!

There is no ever burnning hell where people will be tormented day and night for ever. There are two Greek words translated hell in the Kings James new testament.
Hades {hah'-dace}which means grave. Geenna {gheh'-en-nah} which should have been rendered "Gehenna" or "Gehenna of fire". This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.

An Italian Florentine poet, Durante degli Alighieri, better known as Dante Alighieri or just Dante, June 1, 1265 – September 13/14, 132, created the idea of the hell that is taught to the world. The Catholic Church grabed it and ran with it. The protestants appear to believe all things which the Catholics speak.

God tells us there will be a one time punishment, not an eternal punishing. Yes it has to do with fire, a fire that consumes.
Malachi 4:1 For, behold, the day is coming, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day thats coming shall burn them up, say's the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
Malachi 4:3 And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, say's the LORD of hosts.

We Muslims believe that nobody is responsible for anybody's sin. We also do not believe in Original Sin, in contrast we believe that all people are born pure/innocent. Original Sin was developed later after Jesus is long gone, by people like St.Paul. And if you look closely into Bible, you will notice that Bible actually thinks the same like us Muslims. Read the verses below.

The soul who sins, he shall die: the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be on him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be on him. (Bible Ezekiel 18.20)

Therefore Christians should examine their books and religion rather than just follow blindly. The regret on the Judgement Day will be so great, until non-muslims would agree to throw their families into Hell just to save themselves. That is the description and willingness of the non-muslims on the Day of Judgement.

That is what the Bible was for, to tell us.

In 1 John 5:13 we have a succinct statement of purpose for the book's writing, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Don't believe it? That is one issue. What happens next? That depends on what you believe then, doesn't it?

As for Adam and Eve's sin, I worry about my sin. The book has something to say about that too. In Ezekiel 18, God says "all souls are mine" and continues, "the soul that sinneth, it shall die." It didn't say, "Because Adam and Eve sinned, all souls will die." It says the souls of sinners will die. It goes on with examples. Those that do well are received, those who do ill are refused, those that do well then do ill are refused, those that do ill then do well are received. In verse 20 it says it again, "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" and adds "the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him." Not stopping there the message adds "But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?" (vs 21-23).

Forget the "original sin", it is the sin that origins in the hearts and actions of you and me that we need to deal with. God does not enjoy punishing us for our wrongs. He made provision for us to be forgiven for our failings. As John wrote, that is what the writing was all about--so that you could know. Trust him. Many of us do. Where else are we to go?

lots of "IDK">>>>>>>>>>>>>Questions about Jesus, or Questions designed to convert or recruit people to Jesus (or even away from Jesus for that matter)are simply a waste of time. Ditto for being "saved" or trying to clarify minute points of scripture when there are so many different interpretations and editions of text. People have already decided for the most part if they believe in the fiction written in the bible. People who feel God talks to them have psychological problems because hearing voices is a psychological illness. All the major world religions have issues like this.

If Jesus had never died there would be far more suicides and there would be no hope in the world. I dont know how I would make it if I knew I hadnt been forgiven for all of the wrong things Ive done! God Bless

The wages of sin is death

so we would know, cuase we would know that were doing things that dont please the creator

And God gave us the ten commandments; If we look at that and then look at our life, we would know

God sent Jesus to earth to bridge the gap of sin and life that whoever accepts Jesus Christ in there heart would be saved.

John 3:16-For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I don't have an answer for you direct question, but we don't go to hell for what Adam and Eve did. No one goes to hell for "original sin." They go to hell for their own rebellion to the Father.

Jesus was only on the cross for three hours with horrible, but not life threatening wounds. He was a wonderful man and today, everybody knows his name. He wanted to bring forth a Kingdom of Heaven to replace the Kingdom of Herod where taxes and other cost were so high people could barely survive ... Much like today. Man created God because he feared death and wanted life everlasting. Many Gods were created for fears and hopes over the ages. We are immortal through our children and grand children.
