Don't bother calling the jail you will get no where. I assume you have a certain person you are looking for? If so check the Department of Corrections website for your state. Many states, like Ohio, have an offender search where you can type in a name and they will give you everyone incarcerated present or recent past incarcerated under that name. Some will also give you photos and crime incarcerated for and how long they have to serve and when/if they will be paroled.

prison is where inmates are so just go visit a prison! or do something bad to become an inmate yourself and then you will find exactly what you are looking for.

This question is asked a lot. You can't inmate have rights too. And their right to privacy in a big one that they have. If you don't know the SBI # which only the inmate knows, you can't find them.
