Well, I guess I'll answer this one since it fits me like a glove. I'm Deist. We do believe in the existence of a higher power, I and some others call that entity "The Great Architect." We do not believe in organized religion (or revealed religion if you prefer) and do not follow so called "holy" texts written by human beings. I was on a search my whole life and was disgruntled with every religious organization I investigated and/or joined when I read a biography of the founders and discovered Deism (many of them were Deists). I was overjoyed to find so many others who believed as I always had. It has enjoyed a huge resurgence in the last 10 years.

After reading others' answers I have to point out that theism does not strictly fit her question. Theism can be mono or poly, but does include folks who subscribe to organized religion as well. There seems to be quite a bit of confusion lately in this forum as to what theists are. There is a great explanation in Wikipedia for theism, but it's too long to post here. I would respectfully ask those who think theism fits the bill to check it out. :).

I call them someone who does not know the true and Living God yet.

God teaches that there is good religion - James 1:27. And that the gathering of believers is very important - 1 Corinthians 12:12-26 and Hebrews 10:24-25.

a real Christian! The true religion is God and His Word, not what man-made religion says. Why do you think there are so many religions? Because man wants his religion to fit himself.

A theist is someone who believes in God, whether they belong to a religion or not.

An agnostic is someone who believes there is absolutely no way you can tell whether God exists, so they neither believe in Him nor disbelieve.
