I have a prescription for oxycontin and my husband takes one every once in a while when he is in severe pain from spine surgery. He is going to be drug tested for a new job. How long does it show up in the urine or how can he make sure it is gone before he is tested in about a week or two? He takes about 3 a week at the most and weights about 210?
SERIOUS answers only please!!!!
thank you

minimum of 5 days.Better off w/ 7.Oxycontin is a time released opiate. So count from 12 hours after it's taken. It also depends on the sensitivity of the test.

I'm not sure the issue will be the oxycontin. You are better off getting it made official.

One of the metabolites of oxycodone (the Oxycontin's main ingredient) is morphine and traces of this can hang around for a long long time if they test for the morphine-6-glucuronide.

Get the paperwork from your doc.

He doesnt need to get it out of his system, all he needs to do is go to the pharmacy and ask for a copy of the prescription to bring with him when he does the drug test. If he doesnt have a prescription legally then I think it would take about 2 weeks.

Tell him to go to his doctor and see if they can prescribe him the same drug then when he takes the test he will have a prescription for it

6 months from the hair
120 days from the blood
90 days from the urine

***and drug cleaning system kits do not work on removing this from the system. I work in drug testing!

if your reason of taking the "oxy" is legite, in simple terms take your prescription with so the tester is familiar with that's legite. Your doctor's training must be indexed on the bottle so as that they are able to confirm the prescription.
