Based upon what I see in the world with my own eyes, I say unofficially it's Paganism. Seems like 80% of the world has fornicated many times before they get married and adulterated after they get married and billions of people dump pollutants into God's environoment with their person cars. None of these people can be very devote to any religion!
However, officially it's Islam. Even if you take the splinter groups away the big chunck that's left is still bigger than #2, which is Catholic.
If you combine ALL the splinters together from ALL sources, then it's almost a too close to call race. But to do this you HAVE to lump Christian Scientists, Jonestown, Branch Dividian and all those other cults in to Christianity to bring it over 1 billon.
Believers of Islam and Allah are over 1 billion.
Believers of Jesus and God are over 1 billion.
But on a SECULAR Basis (Sunni Shite, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, etc.), then at least on Muslim sect out numbers the Catholics.
But once again I'll get back to rape, murder, sex outside of marriage, etc.
The grand winner is Paganism. Love of pleasure and sensory things. The worship for gratification.
Given half a chance 80-90% of the world would stuff it's face with food, dance till they drop, party harty, be slutty little girls and boys.

Christianity but it's not a "religion" it's a relationship with the living God.
Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.
Relationship is God's way of reaching us, through Jesus Christ.

Why do you ask this question? Is popular synonimus of truth? The fact that something is popular does not mean that it is necesarily true. In fact, when something is popular I run away from it because it generally means sheepy attitudes and people not thinking on their own.
