It is only slightly easier, for the same reason, to name the leaders of the top largest corporations. The leaders we see and publicly know are the ones somehow, reasons sometimes good and sometimes bad, that are in the news. You have to get to the specific groups and follow the trails of influence and authority. These are not necessarily the same. For instance, there is more to the Assemblies of God then Jimmy Swaggart or Jim Bakker--neither of which are still in the denomination, for reasons made publicly obvious a few decades ago. Rick Warren is a Southern Baptist leader, but he is a leader of a local church (an enormous local church, but one church nonetheless) and a public figure for his methods and books. Warren is not the leader of the Southern Baptists. Chuck Swindoll was a similar luminary and went to head a Baptist college. But he is not a leader in Christian education in the sense that other educational groups take notes on their practice and methods, he is the new kid on the block in that part of the picture.
Leadership follows lines of authority and lines of influence. Religious leadership is very fragmented. There are many 'bright boys' and 'top names', but rarely, even in the Catholic church with its pope, is there a leader. If you think Christianity is fragmented, wait till you wade through the lines of authority and influence for Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Budhism, whew! You ask a hard thing.

There is none really. That issue will be decided after World Islam happens. Then there will be back stabbings and Civil War.
The Closest probably is the Ayatollah of Iran, although the new one is no where near the power level of Khomenie.
There really Should be an official leader. There was in Acient times. That, in fact, is the reason for the split of Shi ite and Sunni. They didn't like each other's choice of Successor.
There is NO one successor I am aware of and I'd LOVE to see some Islmaics post a few names here to enlighten us!
Right now, an Islamic Pope would ruin their game plan. There would be hatred by some of that person and as such there would be in-fightling.
Currently, it's a lot like the Protestants. A bunch of loosely affliated sects, each with a Cleric or Ayatollah who speaks for the tribe or sect, who go to conferences and play politics.
It's about who can raise the most people in a unified method and the Ayotollah can raise most of Iran. No one Cleric can do that in Iraq.
Of course, unofficially Osama bin Laden is trying to be this person. He is single handedly rallying everyone.
I think he expects to be crowned head dude at some future date.

FOR Muslims it is ALLAH, AND MOHAMMAD FOR Christians it is GOD ALMIGHTY, and his son JESUS CHRIST, for the catholics, they seem to worship the virgin Mary who was just a woman that God chose to bare his son, Jesus Christ.
