My puppy has a spot on her back that seems to be getting larger and is very thin of fur. It started a few weeks ago about the size of a dime but is now about 2 in by 3 in. The skin underneath is slightly pink maybe and a little dry? She is not itching or scratching or biting on it. She is on Interceptor for heartworm and other than that no meds except finished with all 3 booster shots? Any thoughts? I was guessing mange but from what I have read on the internet it doesn't look raw and itchy and is not in the usual places? Tips? Am I headed to the vet?

Definitely take your baby to the vet. This could be a simple thing or it could be a symptom of something really bad.

There are a million reasons why that could happen. Did you change her food? Does she get table scraps? Do you have human puppies (kids - lol) who may be feeding her things she shouldn't have? Or giving her haircuts (I did this when I was 5 and it freaked my parents out but good!).
If you can rule those things all out I'd say a call to the vet mightn't be a bad idea...

Good luck!

Sounds like a type of mange. There are 2 types. One is contagious to people. It can cause ring worms for people. I would definitely toke her to the vet to get it treated.

It sounds like mange. See the vet before it gets worse.

My dog has had the same problem. It turned out to be a hot spot. we use doggie deoderent on her now and the problem as stoped. I would still check with a vet though.

I would have thought your puppy was doing it because it had a itchy spot. Are you sure she's not doing it when you're not looking? She may have psoriasis. I know my boss's dog (a golden retriever) has about four patches like that.
