Note: This is by no means a complete list, nor are individuals within these denominations nescessarily stereotypical. The Roman Catholic denomination is one of the most conservative in its teachings, and yet Ted Kennedy claims to be a member!

Today in America, there are more than 1500 different faith groups professing many diverse and conflicting beliefs. It would be an understatement to say that Christianity is a severely divided faith. I couldn't even begin to give you a comprehensive answer so I will just mention a couple of liberal faiths I have experience with. The Congregational Church is a liberal church based on the teaching of Jesus Christ and basically believe that Christianity is the true way but are very tolerant and respectful of all faiths and those of different beliefs. I went to this church as a child and it was a very loving community. The Unitarian Universalist Church which I now go to is even more liberal. They believe there are many spiritual paths and all of them are valid for those who are drawn to them. They see each person as needing to explore and then follow what feels authentic to them. Scientific viewpoints are more strongly embraced than in the Congregational Church which mainly avoids science vs. religion debates and allows its members to believe as they wish in those areas without endorsing any one view. Whereas in the Unitarian church we actually had a speaker talk about evolutionary science and current studies in support of it. Our congregation has liberal Christians, some Buddhists (since our community doesn't have enough Buddhists for its own temple), Pagans, and Humanists. All are welcome and we share our views with each other and learn from each other.

Some Christians are liberals, some are conservatives. It doesn't matter what denominations they are.

Jehovah's Witnesses remain neutral and do not put our trust in human rulers.(Psalms 146:3) Our allegiance is to Jehovah and his government only. The Bible says that man was not meant to rule over man. ( Ecclesiastes 8:9 ) We obey the laws of governments as long as they do not conflict with God's laws. We maintain the same position as Jesus' apostles: "But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)
Human governments will soon be put out of existance and will be replaced by God's government which will rule over the entire earth. When you say the Lord's prayer and ask for God's Kingdom to come, that is what you are praying for.
The new government will last forever as seen at Daniel 2:44--"
"And in the days of these kings(current human rulers) the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever."

It's easiest to tell by the way they view the Bible. If they view it as the inerrant, infallible, inspired, complete Word of God, that is the final authority then they are conservative.
If they view it as a collection of possibly applicable statements mixed with cultural teachings then they are liberal.
