...they had another reason?

Judas followed Jesus through long walks on the beach, and through rotten tomato storms. And he believed in Jesus. It doesn't make much sense that he would betray him for a few coins. (the story of his suicide doesn't prove he was evil)

Lucifer is more clever than any human, yet WE know he could never challenge God. He knew he couldn't win, so why rebel in vain?

What else could have been going on so that these stories actually make sense?

I think Judas loved Jesus so much that when Jesus told him to GO do what you must do. He obeyed Jesus and did what he was told to do and told the pharisees where he would be, Do you love someone so much that you would burn in hell for that love. That you would be remembered as evil by the world for ever ,. thats love. thats whats judas did.

The tale from the koran of Lucifer loving God so much that when God made man and Told Lucifer to bow to man, Lucifer said NO I will bow to no one but you God . God then said" BE GONE" and he was cast into hell with such fury that dante described it as a comet hitting the earth driving to the center and creating the entrance to hell on one side and the mountain of purgotory on the other. Lucifer loved God so much his pride maybe would not allow him to bow to man. But the only thing that sustains him in the pit of hell is the memory of God saying BE GONE>
Thats an wonderfull story and something to think about
motives why do we do things? do we do them because they are right. or do we do them for the praise of man?Do we get fixed on one thing and miss the word of God and get so caught up in the way things have always been done that we tell God he is wrong this isnt the way there supposed to be. Are we playing God? are we saying NO to God.
I think that is the one of the best questions I have seen here
My answer of course is an opinion not an answer. I hope it gives something to think about.

There is no indication that Judas ever believed in Jesus. Many followed Him out of curiousity, and wonder, not belief.
As far as Satan is concerned, that's exactly the problem. Satan DID NOT know he couldn't win. So he rebeled out of pride.
The same as we all do. Our pride is always in vain. That's one reason why pride and vanity have similar meanings.

God is all-knowing and had a plan for everyone, even Lucifer. Great plan dude! Seems a bit of a sadistic fairy tail to me. I wouldn't read it to children under the age of 16.

Arrr, matey, I know a demonolator (someone who worships daemons) who likes to say, "Which angels taught mankind mathematics, engineering, art and science? The fallen ones."

There are those who believe the fallen ones took our side and didn't want us to be slaves, and thats why they are fallen. Kind of turns the old picture on its head, no?
