Actually, Audie Murphy is the most decorated soldier of WWII. The most decorated person in the military is Col. David Hackworth.

"And Monday, his buddies, his soldiers and his admirers gathered in an Arlington Cemetery chapel to pay homage and remember this most decorated of American soldiers."

Matt Urban was trying to prove that he was more highly-decorated than Audie Murphy, and to get the recognition, but not too many people took him seriously.
My idea of heros are the vets who put their medals in their bottom dresser drawer and never talk about them.

Bah, Mannerheim outstrips Murphy in every way. He has military honours from Russia, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Britain and even Nazi-Germany.
