My boyfriend is loving, hugs all the time, kisses, I love yous always come from his mouth but that is when we are in public, in our private life he is different, distant, doesn't want more time with me than he already has. It's been a year and we are mid 20's. I want to buy a house and live with my husband when I'm young and have kids in my later 20's to early thirties. Should I give up on this guy and find another?

You really need to sit down and talk with your BF and tell him exactly what you told us....that you have certain expectations and that you aren't willing to settle for anything less. If he's not with you, he's basically against you. You only have one life to live and need to make the best of it while you still can in your mid 20's.

As far as him being different and distant in your private life, that's NOT a good sign! Most men are the EXACT opposite! They are different and distant in public and affectionate and caring in private! Public displays of affection suck *yuck* :P

You need to address all of these important issues soon before it is too late. If you find that he doesn't want to commit, then yes, give up on him and find someone who will! You sound like someone who has her head on straight so I'm sure you wont have a problem with that *wink*

I would be very concerned about being in a relationship where a person has a different persona for public vs private like this. It doesn't sound like his view of the future is the same as yours and it might be best for you two to move on with out each other.

First of all try to talk to him. Ask him why he doesnt accept you in public. Ask him why he wouldnt like to spend more time with you. If he doesnt give clear answers probably he is hopeless or doesnt dare to tell you the reason not to hurt you.

Dont push on him immediatelly talking to him about marriage. Why not try living together first? Can be a nice training for you both.

Maybe he just needs a bit more personal space for himself, his hobbys or friends. Try to accept him as he is (as long as you are surely he totally loves you).

Sit down for a talk and tell him your strategy of life and ask him how he sees it all. Thats the only way to find out whether yout fit together or not.

Sounds like he wants you for publicity only. Talk to him, ask him where he finds himself 3 or 5 years from now. Ask him what he expects from this relationship. Also share to him your thoughts. Tell him what you expect from the relationship and what you would like it to lead to. Tell him you want a house and kids.

Good Luck !

He may have commitment issues so maybe you are better off without him but if have more than just genuine feelings for him then you need to see a marriage counselor.

If all works out then all the better but if it doesn't then dump him and get another one.

One year in love with some-one its enough to detect wether he or she is serious, if he says that he loves you in public and then when youre two its different then you must start doubting his seriousness ,to me this guy is just wasting your time; get some -one who is open -minded.and who truly loves you from the bottom of his heart not on lips.

Yes, move on. He doesn't know what he wants. You do, so get it. A relationship cannot work if both people aren't on the same path.

If you guys are not on the same life paths....there is not point in being together.

When you date it is to find a partner. It seems he is better off alone., Look elsewhere
