You did have a pretty good reason for ignoring him. I think it depends what kind of person his mother is: if she's judgmental and/or believes her children are always right and/or a stickler for health and safety you might get fired. If not, you should be OK.
Good luck.

Legally, the child was in your care, so it was your responsibility to take care of, or check for injury in the result of an accident. If there is a nurse or medical member of staff at your work place, then the child should have been taken there, given their age and inability to explain, coherently what was wrong, you should have either checked them over to see if there was an injury and/or taken them to a nurse. Also, if you were only looking after two children, it could be questioned why you were letting one of them cry, unnecessarily. Obviously the accident wasn't your fault, and children frequently overreact to minor bumps and falls, however, in a position of responsibility this probably isn't enough. In some ways you may be lucky that the child's parent is your boss, and not someone who pays for their child to be at that establishment. I guess it will depend on how you can explain the situation to your boss, what the two children are usually like and your relationship with your boss.
Legally, to be able to fire you, they would have to prove gross misconduct or negligence, it doesn't sound as though that was actually the case, but....

What are you supposed to do these days when it is so tricky that even parents don't discipline for a fear of having their kids taken away because of a spanking.
Too many people are too ready to jump in and make accusations... It has created an atmosphere of fear and trepidation for parents, teachers and child care workers. What are you supposed to do?
The kid fell, he needed a stitch... Sh*it happens.
As far as you getting fired over it... I don't know, anything is possible these days. I don't know about you, but I think that if people would get their heads out of their as*ses then adults could go back to the intimidation tactics sometimes needed to calm a brat down. Children test boundaries by being bad... it is unfortunate that we as adults feel we have to either revert back to smacking and threatening or do nothing at all. Adults are amazingly idiotic these days, in that they can never seem to be able to outsmart a child to counter their intentions.
There is nothing good to come of leaving a child seeking attention unattended. You should have been the smarter of the two of you.

It was an honest accident... though 2 kids is not such a huge responsibility that you shouldn't have been able to attend to both kids needs. If the mom/boss has any issues with the way you handeled the situation just explain yourself. You didn't neglect the crying child, you checked on him and didn't see anything wrong. I don't think you'll get fired. But some parents can be super picky about their kids, good luck.

Even if you didn't have bad intentions, if it was my kid I'd be PISSED and I'm sure every parent would probably feel the same way. I won't judge you on your spelling to decide whether you're a good teacher or not, but yes you could possibly get in trouble. I think you would have been off the hook if you were straight up with the parents and just told them the kid had an accident. They will think it's odd you did not say anything to begin with. There's a possibility you could get in trouble, just be honest from now on.

You will probably get fired due to the irrational protective instincts of parents.
Send your boss a written explanation that includes all the detail you put in your question.
Then start sending out applications for other teaching positions -- work on this really hard -- the dam may burst at any moment.
Even if you aren't fired, you are "blocked" from any advancement or recognition on your present job. So start looking and get out with enormous haste.

yeah probably. "Letting him cry it out" is not a childcare strategy. The fact that the mom is the boss also dose not bode well.
It would be one thing if you really checked the child out and decided he was fine and only crying for attention, but it doesn't sound like you did this. Also if your school has any sort of nurse you are probably not entitled to make any sort of health care decision, and you should have taken the kid to the nurse no matter what. Learn from your mistakes and hope your boss is lenient

Check with human resources, but also fill out an incident report immediately, reporting only the facts. Did you follow procedure? Is there a procedure in place? What did the child bump his head on? Any witnesses? Photos of the scene? Report it to the liability carrier for the school, including as many factual details as possible, date, time of occurrence, appearance of child. Write it down in your own words; keep a record. Write it down, and keep it, even if the mother does not want you to fill out an incident report; you will have a record of it if you need to file unemployment and she contests it. Report her actions, what she told you, as best as you can remember, even if you are questioned about he incident, record everything. documentation is the clearest way to protect yourself.

wrote up to say the lest. You didn't even look to see if there was a cut,if ti needed a stitch there must have been blood. If you don't tend to the bosses kid(in a room of 2) then how are you going to tend to a group of more?
Deep cuts take some time before they bleed.

Okay, first off, there is no way you are a legitimate teacher, there are more grammatical errors in your question than a 1st grade science project on the effect of pollution on southern China. Second, to be upset about this is ridiculous, if you get fired, it's ultimately because you are mentally incapable of doing this job. Yes, based on what I see here, you will get fired, and you should apply at the local Wal-Mart as a cart gatherer and hopefully all your dreams and fruition's will come to pass the first time you say, "Hello, and welcome to Wal Mart!"
