I have very thick and waivy hair and am straightening a lot at the moment. I think I might get it permed - is there something along the line of a thermo perm??? I'm sure I heard the word - its supposed to be less aggressive on the hair than a normal perm... is it permanent? Any information on perms that will help keep my hair fairly healthy would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

most perms are thermal...it just means heat is applied or the solution is self heating....the longer that you leave the perm on you hair, the more damage it is going to do...never leave on on for more than 20 min no matter what hair type you have...its not necessary...all perms are damaging...and all PERMS are PERManant....hence the word....you will have to use a good conditioner afterward to get it feeling healthy....and you will have to use styling product to keep it from frizzing...If you do get a perm...use a large rod..like orange or peach...nothing smaller...the curls will be too tight and look fake

If you have just straightened your hair you may want to wait until you hair starts to grow in a little then get a trim. Sometimes a perm is better for wavy thick hair instead of straightening because it will give your wave a more formed wave instead of wild waves. Now any perm that says "PERM" on it means that it is permanent. hence the word perm. Hope that helps you can email me with any other ?'s.
