It was the Americans and Pakistanis who introduced Jihad in the modern times. During the Soviet occupation of Afghanishan Americans funded, trained, equiped Religious warriors to fight against the infidels, the Soviets. According to American funded books it was the duty of true muslims to kill the Soviets. American funded textbooks thaught counting to Afghan children by counting the number of Soviets killed.
