Two plastic champagne glasses hot glued together so they cross (laying down) with four clear glass marbles in each glass. The marbles will give the effect of bubbles coming out of the glasses. You can tie helium balloons to the glasses for height.
Straw hats (very cheap at craft stores) decorated with silk flowers and ribbonsperfect for an outdoor, spring, reception.
Tissue Paper Mason Jars
Here are surprisingly elegant centerpieces that cost under $10. Gather assorted mason jar sizes and wrap them in colored tissue paper, add a few flowers and you have cheap centerpieces.
Tissue paper roses and flowers give off a beautiful look to any decorating style and they are quick and easy to make.
Clean beer bottles thoroughly and remove the labels. Spray paint the bottles with a glitter spray (silver, gold or in your wedding colors). Tie a matching or contrasting ribbon around the neck of the bottle with ribbon streamers hanging down. Place either a candle in the top or fill with water and insert flowers.
Visit garage sales or a "dollar" store. Purchase several decorative teacups and saucers. Hot glue the cup to the saucer. Place a small bit of florist foam inside the cup, add water and insert fresh cut flowers into the foam (or skip the water and use silk flowers).

One idea might be to make wreaths with silk baby blue and light purple flowers with some baby's breath mixed in and some flat green leaves on the base. Then, just have a big fat candle maybe something with 3 wicks in the middle.
If you visit a craft center now, you might be able to get the flowers you need on a closeout from the end of the season and save a ton of money if you can find the colors you need and the amount of flowers you would need.

I actually used the cake as a centerpiece on each table. 18 tables, 18 small cakes. You have to pay for the cake anyway, so I just had them make small ones. They placed them on the cakeboard that was lined with silver foil, and then set that on top of a glass sundae bowl (Wal-Mart for 1$ each). Placed some flower petals around the base of the glass bowl... and then inside the bowl you can put anything you want, or nothing at all. There was fresh fruit inside mine... So when they take the cake away for cutting, there is a bowl of fruit, candy, whatever you want to put in it. And the individual cakes was actually cheaper than having a big cake made!

Have you already purchased the floating candles? My church did not have the restriction of the fire code, but with all of the chaos of the day's events my candles were never lit and the water for the vases was never put in. I had assigned this task and it didnt get done, but what could I do? Throw a fit in front of everyone? Nope, So now I have brand new centerpeices that have basically never been used. Maybe I can sell them, who knows. Maybe you can use yours and not light them.

Congratulations! Let me share with you what Im doing for my wedding and maybe you will like the idea. I found online very high vases, tall and thin (24" or higher is better), they look very elegant. Its better if the vase is higher, that way your guests can speak to everyone at the table and no flowers get in the way. Im filling the vase up with crystal like marbles and hot glueing a big styrofoam ball at the top. Then I cover the ball with moss and decorate it with flowers with the colors from the wedding and then have some little pieces of Ivy hanging down.If your good at crafts it can be alot of fun and they can look absolutely beautiful and professional. It could take alittle bit of time, but I think it could be worth it. Good luck!
PS: You can get big styrofoam balls and nice silk flowers from online crafts stores pretty cheap. (cheaper than buying them from local stores)

How about some little bottle filled with bubble soap with little wedding bells tied around them and make sure you have enough for every body. they are at the dollar stores. Then when the wedding is over your guests can take home as a rememberance and you wont have to worry about anything but the table cloths being removed. Good Luck hope all goes well.

I did candles at my wedding. I did small mirrors under the clear glass candle holder with colored candles to match my colors for the wedding. We did Red, White and Blue candles and flowers. I can email you a picture if you are interested.

We laid flowers across the table and then wrapped beads in them and then put swans in that. The tables were beautiful. My mom decorated them for me. She did a beautiful job. She is a very good arts person. She did all my flowers and decorations and her sister helped with the tables. We had a simple wedding but our tables were very elegant. Floating candles never stay lit.

What about taking a flower arrangement and using silver ribbon around them. You can alternate tables too - like one table have purple flowers with silver ribbon and another table have blue flowers with silver ribbon. Depending on how many tables you have you can use different flowers for each table too. It will give each table a unique feeling - like the centerpiece was created just for their table.

Floating flowers, if you like the whole floating thing. I once saw very elegant centerpieces that were clear circle vases with one fully bloomed red rose laying on the bottom.
