my daughter gets this all the time and my hairdresser told me to buy a hot oil treatment and massage it in the scalp and let set about 15 to30 minutes and use one a least once a week it will keep your scalp from being so dry and the flakes and itching will go away and use a shampoo that has moisturizer in it and won't dry out yoour scalp

You might have Bacteria Vaginosis... it's nothing serious and not sexually transmitted it's similir to thrush... go to your doc they will do a high vaginal swap to see if thats what you have and might give you antib's. If they don't work then use Bio fem acti gel.... it's the business! Look at other answers on here BV it's very common. Edit - just to add that washing or over washing makes all bacteria inbalances worse. As women we need these bacteria for a healthy vag but sometimes they get messed up. IT'S NOT TRANSMITTED BY MEN AND IT DOES NOT LEAD TO CANCER, it's a build up of lactobicilus which is the opposite of the yeast bacteria that causes thrush. Both are normal things we HAVE to have. Thrush can be transmitted back to you by a partner but not BV. Seriously it's not an sti, but if you feel better having checks done then why not... it's always a good idea

I find that shampooing just once a week- unless its terribly itchy in which case twice is soothing- with tgel is enough, but I get a friend to oil my scalp regularly. Just plain olive oil, sometimes a drop of lavender or rosemary oil in it, use lots, and leave it on overnight before washing out. This has virtually cured it for me

A sulfate free shampoo should do the trick. Sulfates dry out your hair and can cause irritation to your scalp so that might be your problem. Always check the ingredient list for them. Try to get argan oil shampoos because they're the most beneficial oil for hair and scalp, I use the Pro Naturals hair care system and it will not dry out or strip your hair of its natural oils and because Moroccan argan oil is the closest to the natural oils in your hair, it will not make hair heavy or oily. its really really good!

Use a cap or so full of vinegar or baking soda when you wash your hair. As in every other time you wash your hair. This will get rid of build-up. Also, make sure you rinse your hair very well when you do shampoo. Buildup can also be brought on by using too much hair spray or products like moose and gel on your hair too. Hope this helps :)

I scrape my psoriasis with a comb and then wash my hair with T-gel. It builds up again and again, but at least it feels cleaner for awhile.
