We filed our 2005 tax returns in April, 2006. We were due refunds from both State and Federal. We have had no response to either. How do we find out if our returns were ever received?

For federal, go to www.irs.gov and you will find something like "where is my refund" link. You go there and enter necessary information and it will tell you the status. For state, there is a similar link if you visit the state's site. Good luck.

I would check with the IRS to see if they ever rec'd your return, and if they did ask for a copy and ask why they did not send you a refund.
The same goes with the State. It seems a little odd that both of them have not responded. The IRS would definitely have notified you if they did not receive your return.
