My stomach gets tied up in knots when I go to the same Dr I've been seeing for 7 years! Going to Wal Mart can do it sometimes and the last 2 weeks attending the same chruch I have been going to for 9 yrs gave me heart palpitations. I feel like I am shaking all over.. I can't get into see the phyciatrist until Oct 18. So what kinds of things have to tried or heard of? Any home remedies or tricks? I have one med now for anxiety.And it does wonders for all the "What if's" The other one made me so sleepy I couldn't take it. But what's so weird is that I didn't feel this way BEFORE , I've been off it now for a few weeks.
So in the meantime, I'd really love to be able to calm down.

The next thing you can try is using visualization during the breathing, for example think of a setting that relaxes you, and describe it into a tape using all the senses, say everything you see, smell, hear, touch, etc,,,,while you are doing the breathing exercises try and play the tape and picture yourself in this setting. Another thing that works for some people is progressive muscle relaxation wher eyou tense and relax one muscle at a time. you have to tell your self that you can do it , and don't think negative , find something that relaxes you , listenig to music , driving , etc.
