If I had that problem,

I'd probably drink myself to death.

I know of others that have been found to be allergic to alcohol. Most get deathly sick from it. Some only have this problem from certain types of alcohol, in which case, it is NOT alcohol, but the ingredients used to make it. Grapes, Hops, barley, Corn..any number of fruits etc. Rum is a big one that people can be allergic to. Also, if you are a diabetic and take insulin in particular lantus brand..the use of alcohol while using it will in many cases produce the itching you describe. In fact, myself, I recently found out, I had diabetes, less than a year ago..very recently I watched a weekely diabetic show on tlelvison and found out about this itching from using lantus and alcohol. So,,,either try different types of beverages, see if yoyu get lucky...or the obviuou is if you dont want the side effects..you simply cannot drink.

You really do need to take some Benadryl, it should stop the itching. You could also get some Benadryl cream to apply to your skin. If it's been two days then it should be about all out of your system. You should go to a doctor to find out what other kinds of allergies you might have. Be careful because allergies can cause anopoplectic (I know I spelled it wrong) shock, which can be fatal. And each time you consume what you are allergic to, the allergy symptoms can get worse.

Aveeno oatmeal bath
Benadryl or other antihistamine

If this doesn't work, go to the doctor and get:

some Betaderm cream with menthol in it to take away the itch and

some prescription steroids (I was on Prednizone for a week to get rid of an allergic reaction) along with Claritin during the day and Benedryl at night

I also got some gel lotion from the cosmetician down the street, the kind for use after waxing .. it's soothing, with some menthol in it and mums here in town use it on their kids when they get chicken pox. It helps to take out the itch too!

Good Luck to you and DON'T SCRATCH!!! :-)

You can get over the counter drugs (antihistamines) to help with the itching. If you are as bad as you say, you may need to see a doctor; allegories can be serious, esp if you are having breathing problems with it. You can drink LOTS of water to flush your system. You can remember you are allergic and avoid alcohol. Some people say oat meal in a bath of warm water helps, some say soda in the bath helps. I sympathize with the horrible itching, been there.

As long as there are no respiratory symptoms (shortness of breath) and nothing is swollen, take some Benadryl, and get some lotion called Eucerin calming cream. My daughter has dermitis, and we use it on her-it really helps with her itching. Also, dont drink alcohol anymore.

Don't scratch! Try an oatmeal bath (Aveeno). You might also try calamine lotion. You can't cure an allergy, but scratching will only make it worse. You can also take an antihistimine (Benadryl).

You need to see a doctor or if you are underage and don't want your parents to know at the very least talk to a pharmacist. And quit drinking alcohol.

I've never heard of someone being alergic to alcohol. It's probably something else. If it's as bad as you say, you don't need Yahoo Answers, you need a doctor.
