I am not 100% sure, but I think she is pregnant. I own the male and female. This Sunday will be 7 weeks ago, that they tied together for the first time. They tied twice after that. She is such a large dog to begin with, I just cant tell if she is. Her nipple are larger than normal, and she looks like she swallowed a basket ball and a half. She isnt getting fat in the back, she is getting larger right under the back part of her ribs. Please help! I dont want to be surprized in a few weeks! Are there any other signs I can look for?

yes they start to show signs under the rib area. her nipples will get bigger and they usually look like a swollen basket ball. i breed golden retreivers and my female looks the same way. i own both parents too and when she is prego she starts to show the signs around 6-7 weeks after the tie from the male. make sure tht you feed her a little more food than before, and give her a lot of fresh foods like ( carrots, boiled eggs, celery, cottage cheese, steamed potatos, chicken broth, peas, grd turkey) you can make this food and add to her dry food. this will help her give more nurishment to the puppies. also make sure that you continue her walks because this will help when she is ready to have her pups. if there is to much fat build up she can have trouble delivering the pups.
i have been breeding for about 5 years and have had healthy pups and i make her food everytime she is bred with my male. well good luck and good luck when the pups come, you will have your hands full with little pups in the house.

It sounds like she's definitely pregnant. You should be taking her to the vet for a check-up and also get him to give you some good vitamins for her which you should give her as soon as the puppies are born. The vet can also let you know how many pups she's carrying and answer any other questions you may have about whelping.

If she doesn't seem as energetic as before or is tired from walking, then she is pregnant. If her nipples are swollen and stomach is bigger, then ya probably. One way to tell is if you get the nipple and try to squeeze it and there is a little bit of milk.

She sounds very preg. Take her to the vet. Even if not for an appt. the dr could tell you all you need to know..

Birth will happen 63 day's from hook up. From my experience you have about two wks to go...you will start to see that bulge move (not literally)in about a weak....
