It would be very difficult, and not really safe. Your body needs time to adjust to weight loss.
Statistics show that weight lost rapidly is usually replaced by more.
Steady progress is a better way.
Try a vegetarian diet - much of peoples excess weight is caused by the fat in meat.

yes! i agree with everyone else! I am a nationally certified personal trainer! There is no way you can loose 30 pounds in a week. But i can garuntee you that it is possible to loose that weight in 3 weeks! Its possible to loose about 10 pounds in a week. Its kind of pushing it but if you have the will power and dedication you can do it! Here are the steps!
1. Stop maximum sugar intake! minimize the carbs to about 40 grams a day! An average person takes close to 300 a day. I take close to 450-500 becasue im a bodybuilder in off season.
2. You have to minimize the food you eat and decrease the intervals of each meal! Meaning that you need to have about 10-12 meals a day. Each no more than about 150 calories. and that should be calories only from protein and just a little bit of sugar fat.
3. Most importantly as soon as you wake up in the morning, you must jog for about 4 hrs!!!! thats a pain in the ***. But loosing this much weight isnt easy buddy. and also have breakfast after that of no more than 150-200 calories. The reason you should run in the morning is because your insulin level is the highest as soon as you wake up. You will be burning close to 40% more cals if you jogg as soon as you wake up.
4. Jogg about 40 mins in the evening as well followed by a small meal!
5. This is the most important step.. believe in your slef!!! You can do anything!!!

Why is this in Military? You need to check your scales. I bet the second you eat/drink something the weight will pop right back on. You didn't gain it in a week, so to think you can lose it in a week in unrealistic. Even 30 pounds in a month is very aggressive. Be smart about it.

You are now dehydrated. At most the human body can only lose 1-2 pounds of fat per day. If you ate nothing at all for a week you will lose 10-15 pounds of excess water and glucose then about 10 ounds of muscle. then maybe a few ounds of fat. And you would feel exhausted and dizzy. Then when you started eating again you would gain it all back plus extra because your body now thinks you have to store up for the next "famine".

To lose weight exercises regularly and control your diet.

You're trying to give yourself a heart attack? Are you trying to kill yourself? If only you knew the shock that poses for your body you wouldn't even think of it. Go get a physical exam and make sure you're healthy enough to get into an exercise program. Get on a regular diet plan and join a gym with a licensed trainer. You must be a very young and immature person to do such a foolish and dangerous thing! Have you heard of bulimia? How about anorexia nervosa?

You're on a dangerous track. You're depleting your body of essential nutrients and minerals important for sustaining normal body functions and processes. STOP that at once! Please don't do that?

Fast weight loss almost always results in faster weight gain, and that gain is harder to lose.

As others have mentioned, especially for health reasons, 2-4 pounds a week is considered effective and safe.

There is no healthy way to loose that much in just one week. The safe way is 2-4 pounds a week.

Impossible. Drink a bunch of water and you will gain it back. If we could all drop 30 lbs in a week, half the world wouldn't be obese. Diet and excersise BABY Imagine that!

Pick one Item, preferrably something with more protein and less fat such as tuna and only eat that, every meal, no sides, no dressing (vinegar is ok). Drink a gallon of water a day with lemon and be sure to take vitamins otherwise you will cause yourself to get very sick. Remember also that crash diets only cause you to lose weight temporarily.
If you want to lose weight permanently just workout regularly and eat healthier. No more fried food. Less bread. Less soda. Less sugar. Smaller portions, then you will reach and mantain your goals.
