Why must anyone who says anything about Muslims or Islam apologize? The Pope was quoting someone else from 600 years ago. The fact is that the Muslims have been fighting and killing anyone who doesn't agree with them for thousands of years. The Pope didn't need to apologize for quoting a true statement. I just wish that someone would be strong enough to stand behind their statements instead of always worrying about being "PC".

I think the pope is a big bunch of BS! He puts his pants on just like everyone else in this world. If he insulted anyone then he should apologize, just like anyone. As far as the Muslims go, I do not agree with them either. Ultimate Punishment? Are you out of your mind? It's not up to us to judge people, much less kill people in the name of religion, and I don't care what religion you are! How can anyone not realize they are being brainwashed when they are talked into blowing themselves up, and killing innocent women and children? What do the Islams want? They will never be happy until they have wiped the face of the earth clean of all humanity. Suppose everyone in the world decided to kill all the muslims? Do they not insult other religions? Should they too pay the untimate price? The pope is head over the largest religion in the world, and I seriously don't think anyone will make him bow down to these Muslim Extremist. What will happen, will be just as the bible says it will. There will be an ultimate war, and it will be between the Muslims and the Catholic's, and all the Muslims will cease to be no more. Is this what must take place to satisfy everyone? Muslims want peace, but believe they must kill everyone in the world that don't believe the way they do. They need to put down that Opium pipe, and clear their minds of all the altering drugs they are on, and get along with the rest of the world!! Do we "all" agree it is wrong to kill? The Pope needs to learn to keep his comments to himself, and realize just when to shut up. The Muslims need to learn that killing people is not going to solve anything. If these Muslim Extremist were true to their belief, they would not kill, because it is wrong under the Islam faith to take the life of another. People need to stop doing things, and calling it a holy war. Call it what it really is. Murders who will not be rewarded, but will pay the ultimate punishment for making up laws that don't exist in the muslim belief. Some of the Muslim leaders are that of the devil, just like some of the catholic church are that of the devil. A smart man (no matter what his faith) would have the sense to see beyond the lies that are pumped into their heads by corrupt leaders who make up their own religious laws. They need to go back (way back) and see the truth for what it "Really" is!! I don't care what your belief is, only the truth will set you free! Truth is not acheived by killing people, this only goes against everything either faith has taught for thousands of years. Go back, do your homework, and you to will see the truth, and it's not what some may lead you to believe.

The Pope doesn't need apologists. He was QUOTING.
So what part of that is not understandable? Can you see?
The Pope said something and the Islamic world is burning dummies and threatening the whole world.
Truth makes them uncomfortable. Their thin skin can't take a QUOTE from history? Let's NUKE THEM. So how is that for a response in the same terms? Exaggerated? Rest my case.

The Pope read a 14th century passage and Muslims react violently, giving truth to the statement.

Big (and sometimes small) religions, or should I say religious institutions are all forms of propaganda!!! Nations are exploiting each other since the beginning of time! Relationships are based on power and money (gold, diamonds and oil, for example).
Free yourselves, people! Don't be slaves. And don't get me wrong - I'm pretty shore that REAL atheist don't exist. If someone claims to be one, just ask him what is life???!!!
I was baptized as a baby (Serbian Orthodox Church), but I don't really care about religious dogmas... Just follow your conscience! Have a good day, everyone!
P.S.
Sorry about my English, it is not my native tongue...

At least he is not afraid to call it the way he sees it and I personally see the Muslim "problem" from the same prospective. I believe there is room for all religion. When the Christians had the crusades trying to force their opinion on others , they were in the wrong. Now the Muslims thinking that we are infidels for not sharing their beliefs are in the wrong.

Why should the leader of the largest denomination within the Christian world apologise for quoting from the records of Western Imperial history.
I'm not a Catholic, and had no particular view on Islam until the muslim terrorists started to commit their acts of destruction against the Western world.
I cannot view islam as a peaceful religion, for we are forced to judge from its actions of terror against each other, as much as those they continually use against us.

Does anyone remember what they were taught in grade school history? No, well then let me refresh you a bit. Many hundreds of years ago a peaceful and advanced people were invaded by hoards of "religious" zealots. Large numbers were converted to the hoard's religion on pain of death while the hoard occupied their country, destroyed their culture, intermarried their people, ruined their economy, dictated their government, and forcefully took them out of their role as world leaders in culture, education, art, philosophy, exploration, and civic development. That country was Spain, the invaders were muslims, and it took 700 years and bloody wars to rid themselves of the scourge. Does history ever repeat itself?

Pope is a religious Head. He should have been careful with words. There are extremists in Islam but that does not give him the right to generalize. But we should respect him we should be respectful.
Muslim around the world should learn to be less violent,,,that does not mean that you should take it all I mean injustice etc,You should fight for your rights but why kill innocent souls
