The violence that could errupt from those comments not only threaten world peace but shows the edging danger between the two religeons. In this time of war and struggle... the 2 faiths should come together in a mutual respect under 1 God. No matter your faith, there is no denying that God exists and that both Jesus and Muhammad walked this earth... regardless if they were devine.

I would like all muslims to know.. that as a Christian I do not denounce the Muslim religeon but instead accept it that God's will has left the 2 the 2 most dominant religeons on the planet.

here's to the future, peace, prosperity, coexistance, and mutual respect.

"No belief of life is worth the life of belief" - if we destroy each other our beliefs, goals, practices, and traditions will be lost for eternity. God has not yet ended the world... to me this means we still have a chance!

spoken like a true millenial.

1st off christianity attacked them 1st during the Crusades.... throughout history they have been attacked by the west! They were nomadic, Persians fall to Alexander, then the area falls to Rome, and then the Crusades all left them in ruin and desperation. You wonder why they made a new religeon using the same figures as christianity (hint hint the angel gabriel).

They have sought peace in the past but have been betrayed each time. Now that we are civilized we expect them to jump on the wagon. And when they don't you want to kill them all? Its only the extremists that kill. Besides the presence of the Anti-Christ who is prophesy... "he is to arise as a legend after a prince of persia brings the fury of the eagle upon them." as spoken in the book of revelations... and which was written way before any of us!

In most places the two faiths have mutual respect. The radical islamic sects are the nuts and what the Pope said about islam is and has been proven by their actions. They killed innocent people and burned everything because their feelings were hurt? That's just plain crazy. The Pope was reciting an acient manuscript anyway. He apologized and they wanted another apology after that. Tell me, have radical muslims ever apologized for anything? No, they have not and never will. Until we kill all RADICAL muslims, the world will be in turmoil.

I think the pope's recent comments point out the weakness of Christianity as a moral code and belief system. As a lifelong Catholic, I am quite disappointed in the faith in general and in Mr. Ratzinger in particular.

Religion has long outlived any usefulness it may have had in the primitive days when patriarchial tribalism meant survival. People like Aristotle, Plato and even Ben Franklin and Thomas Paine provide moral systems far superior to those of Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

It is not of value to teach children that someone else, anyone else, will take blame for their wrongs, nor does it help world peace to claim that nonbelievers will burn in hell and that only the 'faithful' are worthy of respect and deserve to live. All three religions teach contempt for other belief systems, and a 'kill, convert, or produce offspring' to fill the world with only their own believers.

You've got half the point. The whole truth is that the Abrahamic faiths are all violent, destructive, and negative to the environment and humankind.

he's somewhat superb. i'm no longer asserting that one and all Muslims today are radicals or maybe want to take over the worldwide--yet, the Pope is actual. The roots of Islam are violent. It grew to become into unfold with the aid of the sword from its very inception and continues to be being unfold with the aid of the sword. Muslims who choose for to be indignant could desire to confess the certainty, in simple terms as Christians have long because of the fact amitted that the Crusades DID ensue. human beings ought to confess the certainty, even no count if that's gruesome--and the certainty is that Islam is the only faith in cutting-part historic previous that keeps to be being unfold via violence.

As a spiritual leader of Millions of followers, the Pope shouldn't have made such a remark to the Muslims, religious faith is an individual choice, there is no need for him to do so. Moreover he should understand that the church should not mix world politics with religion. The church did that during the second world war by siding the Nazis.

the pope is not a stupid person, and the people who advise him are not stupid either. He knew exactly what the response to his statement would be, the question is why did he say it? Sure, it gives him publicity and shows what (some) muslims think and what islam seems to be about these days, but was it worth it, since it gives them somthing else to hate and rally for.

The guy apologized, let it go. Geesh. How many stupid, ignorant, and racist comments go on every day that aren't called out on? People are just attacking him because he's an easy target. If you really want to make a difference and create 'unity', why don't we start in our own homes?

no, it is time that islam take responsibility for the violence they perpetuate around the world. it is an evil death cult and they know it. If you are an American, you had war declared on you personnaly the other day. You want mutual respect with that? They said they will allow you to convert or kill you by the sword. And you want to respect that? screw them

praise be the peas

Yup, they're both crazy, and what it really highlights is the need for a greater civilization and society to emerge, one that replaces the myths and fears of religion.

This is not the time for mutual respect. This is the time for the extermination of Islam and all of its followers. I applaud the Pope and only regret his apology. Its time that Christians rise up and kill all muslims as muslims have been killing for centuries.

DEATH TO ISLAM!

Praise Jesus!
