Why are so many Mexicans running away from Mexico instead of staying there and making it better?

If Mexico would get control of its crime problem and get rid of corrupt police more people would want to visit.Why do wealthy Mexicans not invest more in there country and start businesses?Here in the USA Ive seen many immigrants save money and start businesses.Why do they just give up on their homeland?Of course we hate for them to send all their money down their but if it meant that Mexico could stand on its own two feet economically and start more business,Resorts,Factorys ,shops, it would be worth it.It just seems like they would be happier in their own culture with their own language instead of coming here and trying to change ours.They are not all like that but many are and you would think they would want to fix Mexico.

Anne you have not been paying attention to my other posts or you would know.IM a farm worker in the poultry business and im the one climbing through chicken crap so dont lie and say they do work I wont.please people really look around there are tons of white and black and brown farm workers that was not the question either.I dont know why people insist on beleiving that propaganda.Theres lots of Americans on farms , ranches,and factorys.Oh yeah im white and guess what my white family has 10 members doing all that work you people are talking about.They get covered in blood ,guts,crap, water ,eggshell,and chemicals daily and your lies are just that lies.

It's a really good question...they say that Mexico's got a workforce of like 30 million or so. IF I had a workforce of 30 million, and the coin to build em with, I'd have a hospital or a clinic every 3 blocks.

It's easier to plead poverty and tell sob stories than it is to stack bricks and glue em together 'til you get a 'building'. Also, if you go solving problems, you remove everybody's excuses...

The only thing I agree about is why do wealthy Mexicans not invest more in the country and start businesses. Everything else, can be applied to the U.S. I mean we have huge drug and crime problem here too, long before illegal immigration was a problem. There's also corruption here too...remember 2000 when Gore was supposed to be President? But back to Mexico, they do have beautiful resorts everywhere in Cancun, Acapulco etc where Americans love to travel by the millions..., and Mexico is very wealthy. Yes, they should overthrow their corrupt government....but guess what?? The U.S. won't let them. These last Mexican elections a few months ago, my white friends asked me "who will be Mexico's next president?", and I said "whoever the U.S. gov't wants".....and that's what happened. Liberal candidate Mr. Obrador really won, but since he's a brown leftist who wants to change Mexico, create jobs, and not let American businesses come and exploit people, then it was decided by the "courts" there that Mr. Calderon (a white conservative) was really the winner (sounds familiar?) Millions of Mexicans went to the streets in Mexico City, but nothing happened. It kills me that some Americans say that Mexicans should stay in Mexico and "fix" their own problems, when those friggin problems were started by American policies and non-stop meddling.

Because life seems better in the US to people from mexico, and you can make more money here than in mexico. Some just come here to work and send the money to their familes. I knew a couple of mexicans who have done this. You could say the same about America. And life is getting better in mexico, but not fast enough for some people.

I DONT THINK IT IS THAT EASY. Obviously they would be happier in Mexico that can be seen by how they are trying to change the U.S. into an extension of Mexico, Maybe they just dont know how to fix it, I am from New Orleans and that is how I feel I want to go back but where do we even begin to fix all the problems we have there?

Yes, Mexicans could have it better if they stayed there and changed their country but that takes time and hard work, and the truth of it is that their starving children and dying elders don't have the luxury to wait that long.

Plus, passing destructive agreements like NAFTA isn't helping their situation.

Honey..I have an answer for you... they come to work for thier families... to pick up your fruits from the fiileds.... clean your mess at restaurants and cook what you eat at restaurants..to do allthe work an american wouldnt do... so in a way you should be thankful they are here... and just a little reminder..........ITS NOT ONLY MEXICANS...

Why do people move out of the ghettos and into the suburbs instead of staying behind and making the ghettos safer, cleaner and better?

Though I don't agree with illegal immigration that is the reason why they come. Many times it is hard to fight corruption and apathy.

Its the same reason why you would move from one state to another: to have a better life and to provide for your family.

I didn't think it will be such a bad thing for immigrants to come to this country to provide for their families.

Yes, but the Mexican government keeps encouraging them to come here, & send lots of US money back there to their relatives to keep the county alive til more can leave & come here

in a third world country everything is cheaper or cheapened like a cop making 30 dollars a month taking bribes -mordita- to allow crime or to protect rich folks only -so its ingrained there to do whats necessary to live .. most folks live hard and die young as one person stopped again at the border said id rather be poor in america poor folks here got tv and cars and a nice warm house and lots of food ,, and to reform mexico has been tried by a series of dictators and elected prez's for at least the last hundred years ,, look at our mess in washington we're not batting a thousand with that team
