Awww.... that is so sad. I hope the little kittens get over it soon. It depends on how long ago the cat that died had died. If it died over 2 weeks ago... then maybe your kittens have a problem. The will eventually forget their mommy but until then give them lots of love! I am a cat lover, so if you have any questions in cat raising or care then email me at bnatalie.hotstuff@yahoo.com.
:) Good luck.

You have a needy kitten. All kittens are different emotionally. IF the Momma Cat died shortly after giving birth -- rest assured your kitten is NOT searching for it's mother. Infant kittens imprint on their caregiver for everything - food, stimulation, play, socialization. Your best bet? Baby your baby. Reassure the kitten, redirection, distraction, but most of all, baby the baby. Every litter has a 'special' kitten that may be a little awkward and acts 'lost' even though there's a whole wad of kittens five feet away. Good luck and have fun finishing off the job. Please get your kittens spayed/neutered before adopting them out!!
Don't forget that a lot of mother cat/kitten play is really training the kitten to be a cat. So, that would be your job too!!!

You can get a $20 bottle of Rescue Remedy from a health foods store. People use it for emotional stress and it works wonderfully on animals too. You just shake the bottle well and put three to four drops on the kittens' fur between their ears. Use it frequently as it is not a drug and the effects will be noticed immediately and you can repeat it as often as you want till you see the kittens have settled down a bit better.
It cannot harm the kittens at all and you will see results.

Awww, that's so sad. Don't be surprised if your kittens, especially the gray one, start viewing you as mommy and practice kneading/nursing behavior on you. So sorry for your loss, good luck with the kittens, just give them lots of love and affection.

Hi!
Try putting an old alarm clock (with the alarm off of course!!!) rolled up in a blanket or a towel inside their sleeping box or basket. The ticking sound will remind the kittens of their mother's heart beat and will quiet them down.

You are their mommy now. Soon they will forget and go on to life as usual. Please get all the kittens spayed and neutered. There are so many out there that it is senseless to keep the cycle going.
