It's the subconscious human nature of competition - survival of the fittest & all that sort of thing.

what a rediculouse question. Why should anyone wish to be better that another person. Unless you are a runner in a race, or in some sort of competition in sport. but not just nomally in everyday life, thats twisted.

because we know that if you take every person and assign them a coolness factor, then half the people will be concidered cool, and the other half un cool.

So 1 out of two people is un cool. And if i am talking to some one, i know that one of us is probably un cool , so I have to prove that I am cooler than they are.
