I can't a lot of videos. I get the "Acquiring License" error message and the file never opens. The content is not protected. I have Windows 2000 Pro and Windows Media Player 9. What should I do to get them to open?

* Video LAN is great, but cannot open these kind of videos (the ones that need WMP9).

* System mechanic requires purchase.

* The player is already set to autodownload them, but to no avail.

I downloaded AlShow from the site you posted (5.5mb) and it failed to open the files.

I should add that I searched for answers on the net and the most common recommendation is to use WMP9 for Win2k, and that *is* what I'm doing but it's not working.

I prefer not to use Media Player...it gives me nothing but problems, plus it's cumbersome. I use AlShow...it's free and works a lot better than WMP.
