I can totally relate to this. One of my foster dogs used to chew every bed I bought her. And she was a big dog so those beds were expensive! Some things that I tired were spraying it with BitterApple, a product you can find at petco or petsmart. It is bad tasting and most dogs won't put their mouths on anything that tastes like it. My dog used to go and chew something, then spit it out and couch for the few seconds trying to get the taste out her mouth. In addition to that I would, for a few days, also only allow her to have the bed while you are there, and everytime she starts to chew on it shake a can of penny's or say "NO". Praise her for sleeping on it without chewing. Make sure you have toys for her that she enjoys chewing more than the bed - like kongs filled with a treat or nylabones. If all else fail get some old sheets and towels to serve as a bed. It doesn't look as pretty but its just as comfortable to the dog, and less worry if they chew it up.

There is a bed that is a vinyl mesh type material that is pulled tight over a metal frame. Sort of like a hammock but tight on a frame. It's not "plushie", but still comfortable, and dogs are less likely to chew on it.
Look at www.drsfosterandsmith.com. They have everything for pets.
I've found that some dogs develop a taste for the Bitter Apple products and find them a rather nice gravy.

The most successful treatment i've found for this is a product called "Bitter Apple" spray. It's odorless and colorless and can be used on most furnishings, but most dogs can't stand the taste of it and will stay away from whatever it's sprayed on, however you must go a step further and when you see your dog chewing on something he's not supposed to have firmly tell him "No" and replace the object with a chew toy.

There is this spray stuff call "Bitter Apple" spray it on the bed and he won't want to chew anymore! I had problems with my dog chewing on the couch and the side of the house and pillows! But when I got "Bitter Apple" he stopped and it doesn't ruin the fabric, and it doesn't smell bad. You can get it at Petsmart or Petco.

How old is your dog? there is no hard and fast way, just time and patients, its all about training, your dog has to be trained not to do it. Dogs mostly chew out of boredom, give him something to do, play with it , walk it, and get some toys for when you are out. ones that challenge the dogs brain. You can get food balls that drop out bits of food when its rolled a certain way. All these types of stimulating toys will help. just stick with it he /she will stop.

1 dog, but lots of beds? Cedar filled dog bedding keeps mites, and other little insects out, they will sleep better.
