The word Hindu does not appear anywhere in the Vedas, Upnishads, Shrutis etc.

It is foriegn word given by the invaders to the people living nearby Sindhu river. Since the invaders langauage did not correspond to the sound of alphabet 'S' , they started pronouncing it as the Hindus.

The real religion was vedantik or Sanatan which has been forbidden and forgotten

It is more of a way of living i.e. civilisation rather than a religion

Thus all the people living in India may be coined as Hindus basing on geographical nomenclature

"Hindu" is more a civilisation or way of life. A person who does not embrace any other faith or religion is also a Hindu. This is because, every person has a soul and its realisation is the ultimate goal of Hindu religion. Hindu as a religion is the full realisation of God within oneself.

Word “Hindu” was coined by Muslims or Persians to distinguish the follower of Vedic Culture from them selves.
Vedic Culture believes in Duty of Soul and is not to be confused with a Faith or Belief or Religion.
Ones Faith, Belief or Religion many change but ones Duty as Soul does not change. The word "Dharma" is misinterpreted in English Language as Religion. It actually means Occupational Duty.
The word in Vedic Literature is "Sanatana Dharma" or Eternal Duty of the soul.
This Duty is to render loving service to God.
“It is the living entity’s constitutional position to be an eternal servant of Krishna (God)" – (Chaitanya Charitamrit Madhya-108)
Forgetting this we are engaged in service of our body, our family, our society or nation etc. But we always remain Servants either we are a beggar on the street or Leader of the Richest nation.
