To lose 30 pounds in only a few days, the safest methods would be liposuction or limb amputation. A healthy, realistic approach would be to aim for 2 pounds a week. If you lost 12 pounds yesterday, it was most likely sweat/water weight lost, and properly hydrating yourself will bring most or all of it right back. Also, if you are overweight and out of shape, several hours of working out may be too much. Start small. Make healthy lifestyle changes. Try being active for 30-60 minutes a day and eating sensibly. Fill up on fresh fruits and veggies, then lean proteins, then a few whole grains. Exercise is good, but overdoing it can hurt you more than not doing it, so be careful. Losing weight is not easy, it's a process. It took more than a few days to get there, and it won't fix that quickly either. Be patient, but persistant. Good luck.

If you truly lost 12 lbs yesterday, it was only waterweight due to excessive sweating. What this means is that you have not lost any (or much) body fat, but rather water that will just be restored. You can't lose 30 lbs in a few days. And any means of fad or crash dieting will only yield temporary results. You need to start eating healthier foods, smaller portions and working out more (3-5 days a week for 30 minutes at least). Good luck.

I'm sorry to tell you but you cannot lose that much weight that quickly and stay healthy. But I can tell you how to lose about 30 lbs in 6 weeks.

Don't get overly concerned about your weight. Think more about being healthy and looking good. Diet is extremely important. To slim your body you must:

Burn more calories than you eat.

Cut your fat intake.

Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it) and fresh pineapple. This helps you break down your food.

Do 45-60 min. of aerobic exercise a day (preferably before you eat in the morning). This will attack your fat.

Do 20 min of weight training three times a week. This will build lean muscle which will in turn burn fat.

I lost 40 lbs in two months and have kept it off for two more months doing this. I also took my body fat % from 30% to 14%

Be Blessed

It is so very unhealthy to lose weight that fast. You can't possibly lose 30 pounds in a couple of days. The safest and most effective way to lose weight (and keep it off) is to start slowly by changing your eating habits and exercising regularly. A few pounds a week is good to start. Try something like Weight Watchers. It really does work!!!

That's not going to happen. Like another answerer said, you probably lost water weight. Aim for a couple of pounds a week by an hour of exercise three or more days a week and eating healthy foods. Worry more about whether your foods are healthy than how many calories or fat grams you consume, just aim for lower saturated fat or none. Enjoy your life and don't focus so much on weight.

You can't lose 12lb of anything, but fluid in one day. You certainly can't lose 30lb of fat within a few days. You need a dose of reality and losing weight fast is a surefire way to fail. But don't listen to me, you will find out for yourself, when all the weight goes straight back on.

Do it properly, lose weight healthily and steadily and you will be able to maintain your results. Do not aim to lose more than 1-2lb per week. Yes, I can hear you sighing and rolling your eyes, but if you lose more than 1-2lb a week, you will only be losing muscle and when you stop dieting, you will gain fat. It doesn't take a genius to figure out you will end up fatter than you are now. So just take the advice of the good people here and lose weight the proper way. Good luck : )

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. That is not a realistic weight loss goal for that period of time....

To lose weight, you need to decrease caloric intake, while at the same time increasing the amount of calories burned... That means decreasing Food intake (or fasting in the extreme) and exercising more. If you are a heavy person, consult your Physician before starting any exercise program........

you can't lose 30lbs in a few days - it's average to lose 2-4 a week anymore than that can be harmful
eat healthy and exercise - cut out your high fat/sugar foods - might be helpful to talk to a nutritionist and a fitness instructor to obtain a program that would work for you
good luck!
