That varies by state/jurisdiction. I don't believe any state allows voting while incarcerated, but some will reinstate the rights upon release.

Oh, and it is NOT merely commission of crime. It requires conviction. Remember the presumption of innocence???

Usually any felony works to deny a person of voting rights.

I think this stinks, as anything that works toward including someone who has paid their debt to society should be heartily embraced. There should be no additional penalty after a sentence has been served.
