I certainly think so and hope so. My husband died four years ago and my older dog was his constant companion. When I had to have her put to sleep at the end of May (she was 14), the one thing that made it somewhat easier was the belief in my heart that they'd be together again, playing on the beach, swimming, and enjoying life together.

Here's my take on it...for the people who say animals don't have souls I would like to know why each one is so individual and not a carbon copy of the other.
My dogs are very different creatures and my cat rules the roost! They all have personalities all their own, just like humans. They are animated, loyal, and enrich my life tremendously so...my thoughts...
If I am going to some great place when I die, I'm sure my dogs will be there too. If I'm not going to some great place I'm sure my dogs will look down and wag their tails and perhaps even jump to be with me.
If there is a spirit world it will be full of dogs, cats, and all animals including man because all animals have wonderful spirits!

As I say I sure hope there are dogs in heaven. If not I wan't to go were they are.
I heard this one story. It was about a man who died and his dog that he loved and had when he was younger he sow again. Well they wen't walking and they came to this place with big gold gates and he could go in but they did not take dogs. So he said he would not go with out his dog. So they walked some more and latter he found a old man at a well. He asked it he and his dog could get a drink. Well they got to talking and this was heaven. So he asked what was that other place? The man was told it was hell. He was suprized and wanted to know if the old man being God was mad that hell was trying to mimck heaven. He was not because they got all they great owners that really loved there dogs and would not leave them alone any more. (Some one sent this to me in an e-mail alone time ago) (Also I tryed this fast and don't have time to reread it but it should be ok just understand please:)

According to Betty Shine(professional medium) there are animals in the spirit world. In one of Her books when she moved to a new house there was a spirit cat that would visit Her.Who`s gonna beleive this!?,but when one of our guinea pigs died ,my kids and I were really traumatised because He died in an accident and I was feeling really guilty, anyway I dragged myself out, eventually ended up at the library, and I`m not joking at the same time my son and I said,"Can You smell that smell?"My daughter could smell something too but she thought someone must have weed themselves!! Anyway it was the same smell the guinea pig smelt of(the smell of death)when He was dying,we were convinced He was reaching out to us(or something was). Before going home I went in the supermarket, and at the cash-till my son came over with this pendant He found. On it-Our Lady of Lourdes, which to me was an appropriate symbolism of the circumstances, the mother

i believe so, my pet dog was very special and protected me and my home while he was alive, he had a different sound to his walk and had a special sounding bell on his collar( i made the bell to make a certain sound)and sometimes i can hear that bell and his walk coming down the hall way to the side of the bed where he slept. as well as the neabors say that thay see him running in the yard, keep in mind that these people never met him or know what he looks like, thay just tell me that thay see a large white dog in my yard sometimes, and that is what he looked like.

If you believe in the spirit world... why wouldn't they be there? God's creatures big and small, right?

Dying and going to heaven means being greeted by all the animals you have loved in your life. That would be a heaven worth going to. Must be as true as anything else.

I don't believe that animal souls are immortal. However, I do believe that they can, by special dispensation, gain access to Heaven if they already have an owner there who loves them.
