As Muslims are demanding? Is it unreasonable for Christians to expect apologies from Muslim clerics for the murder of the nun in Somalia and the fire bombing of Christian churches in Palestinian areas?

The man should not have apologized, because he just quoted something and in any event he has not called for Islam to be squashed or whatever, unlike those sick terrorists in Iraq who said "the cross worshippers must die!!!"

Nope expect no apology from the Muslims for those things. They'll say Christians had it coming, the West had it coming, blah blah blah blah bad Christians blah blah blah...

1. No, His apology was sufficient.

2. Not unreasonable to want an apology, but expect one, probably won't happen.
Opinion only.

This is what the Pope should say in response to the threat: "Thanks for the threat, for now you are my dearest friend and care taker, let me explain; if anything ever happens to me from this point forward, even if I catch a cold, the world and I will think you had something to do with it. And we will make sure justice will be served. How do I deserve such honor and protection? I'd rather you chose one of the other two options. 1) work with me or 2) just ignore me."

He shouldn't apologize at all. I'm not suggesting that what he said was right. But you can probably assume that his speech was not off the cuff, that it was planned out. If that's true, then he should have the balls to defend his opinion, right or wrong.

He has nothing to apologize for. He was simply reading a quote. It just goes to show you that ignorant hateful people will grasp at anything to harm another that doesnt share their belief.

He should have never apologized. Why do we as Christians always have to apologize?. Non-Christians never apologize.

The Pope should not have quoted something silly like that in the first palce, but then again, it's not a surprise, considering his Hitler-Jugend background....

There's no point in apologizing if no one wants to listen.
