You can try two things. One is more harsh then the other though... my suggestion would be to try the softer one first. Anti-dandruff shampoo... this strips colour out, as it is such a strong shampoo for your scalp... thats why it lifts the colour out.. .and since the colour is fresh, it may just do the job nicely. second alternative... and i would only recommend using this as a last resort... washing up detergent. its strong and tough and rips the colour out. BUT... put in a treatment straight after... your hair will need it... its had chemical overload from the colour and the stripping...
wash a few times with them, it should take it down a shade, which will make a world of a difference.

My suggestion is seek a professional at a beauty salon. They know how to counter act the chemicals in the original dye and can help it look better maybe not perfect but much better.
My daughter did this to her long, long hair with red hair coloring. She is a red head but not something called burnt sienna-it was a loud horrid color-but our hairstylist saved the day. No more box stuff for her!

I was in a bad situation once when I dyed my already red hair red and it turned purple. I used apple cider vinegar (before shampooing) and it seemed to help. The box of dye should have a "help" number somewhere...call that number...the company I called was very helpful.
I would hesitate putting more chemicals in my hair at this point but if it is unbearable and nothing seems to work, go to a GOOD salon. It's worth the money to get this fixed.

I have had some luck with using the brown dandruff shampoo. Put the shampoo on dry hair where the color is too dark, massage into lather (on dry hair) do not leave on for more than 5 minutes. It'll dry your hair out so be careful. Also stop by your local beauty supply store see if they have the dye remover mentioned in the link above. ps. remember it probably looks worse to you than it really is.

Oh dear! I think you should make an emergency appointment with a professional colorist at a salon! I know from experience (I have been every color from black to blonde and everything in between) that if you keep doing things to your hair on your own, you will just damage it! Let a professional handle it.
Good luck!

you shouldn't put any more chemicals in your hair right now - wait a few days and it may lighten up - if not you should go to a salon and have them do something with it - maybe even just have them put some highlights in to make it better for you

Right now you do not want to put any more chemicals in your hair , it can damage it really bad. I would say wait a few more weeks and try a lighter color or bleach it out. Or go to a professional
