there are 2 places to check to solve this
1st click start-all programs-start up folder-if there is anything to do with that app your having trouble with in here delete it.
2nd click start-run-type this msconfig-hit enter-start up tab-look down the list and uncheck anything having to do with that program. just look carefully its hard to tell what everything here is for. good luck

Not sure what trayapp is, but try the two following:

Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware Peronal Edition (http://www.lavasoftusa.com) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.

Run the msconfig utility.
Go to Start, then Run and type in: msconfig
Go to the startup tab
You will see a list of all the programs that are loaded when your computer starts up. See if trayapp is listed as one of the items loaded and uncheck it. Uncheck any others that you do not have to have. (Usually you can uncheck them all). The fewer things loaded here, the fast your PC will boot and run. If you decide you to need one, you can go back and recheck it.

If the tray app is still loading, the program is probably not removed. Did you delete a directory, or uninstall? If you did not uninstall it do so by going to Control Panel then Add/Remove Programs and removing it there. Another thing to do is go to Start then Run and type msconfig and press enter. Go to the Startup tab and uncheck the program that is starting up.
