I like in Houston, TX. And I drive 18 miles to go work. It takes me about 20-25 minutes with minor traffic. If there's an accident, it usually takes me about 30-35 minutes.
What's your commute like?
Just curious to see what other people have to go through each morning!
Thanks!

I only have a 6 mile commute to work - when I work daylight shift it takes between 10 and 15 minutes to get there because at 6 am there isn't a whole lot of traffic. But when I work evening shift (as is the case today) it takes about 20-25 some days because not only is there more traffic at 2 in the afternoon but they are doing construction on the roads here

Piece of cake. 10 minute max ride to the Park and Ride. Get on the comfortable highway bus using the discounted ticket provided by my employer (and what I do pay is exempt from federal taxes courtesy of the folks in Washington). Lean back, read the paper, sleep, listen to music, whatever. Dropped at the front door of work. The way home I cross the street, hop on the bus, and have the same wonderful trip. It's 20 miles door to door. Mileage on my truck dropped by more than a third the first year. (Drove that many fewer miles.) Blood pressure went down. Less of a bastard when I got home. What's not to like? On top of saving money ($20 month vs. $80+ for parking, 2 gallons of gas/day = insurance, wear and tear, oil, tires, etc.) I'm less stressed, happier. Why would you commute any other way if you have the choice?

1.7 miles from my driveway to my parking spot. 2 traffic lights. Takes about 4 minutes each way.
This is a definite improvement over my last job- 26 miles each way, 45 minutes normal traffic; 1 hour + in rush hour. My quickest commute ever to that job was 24 minutes, going about 87 mph on the 417.
I live in Central FL, so traffic pretty much always sucks unless it's about 4 am.

I live in the "tidewater" area of VA on the peninsula. I live about 12 minutes max away from work. I have to be here at 10 and If I leave at 9:47am, I'll get here right in time. Usually the traffic isnt too bad and I dont get held up by anything except red lights. I like to ride in silence in my Ford Taurus and think about the day ahead.

I'm around the Little Rock, AR area and I'm about 18 miles out as well. Takes me about 22 minutes if there is no traffic.

I do the reverse commute from Manhattan to Brooklyn in New York City via subway- Approximately and hour and change.
Don't get me started on the transit strike last year, though. We walker/subwayers are paralyzed if there is anything up with the trains or buses. Imagine what would happen if there was a simple attack on our transit system!

2 miles, 15 minutes and easy for a change. This is LA man. Beats 33 miles and 1 hour minimum 2 max.

I climb up out of my foggy valley and break into the glorious sunny day above me. From there I have a stunning view of the Cascade mountains with the sun rising from behind them. I make a right and am face-to-face with the Olympic range, and their incredible glacier-covered peaks. It's a beautiful 3.5 miles which I enjoy for about 12 minutes each morning.

I live in Midtown Atlanta and work Downtown so driving it's 5 minutes or less train 15 min but sometimes have to wait on train 15 min lol so it can be 15 or 30. walking distance is 30 min and running is 15 min. so when not lazy I walk to work and run on the way back.

Seriously, this is a part of my life I need to fix. My commute is 70 miles and 2 hours one way, over 5 eastern mountains. It eats up all my family time. The pay is pretty good and the job is interesting, but I need to fix it. I can't keep doing this indefinitly.
