Given that it's the job of police to protect citizens, could any victim of crime sue the police for not doing their jobs?
I mean, if I didn't do my job (I know, I know) I would be sacked. Why are the fuzz/pigs/bacon/rozzers/cops allowed to get away with it?

Oh, by the way, I'm not a victim of crime. It's fair to say I've caused more crime than have fallen foul of.

Once again, I ask a question and everybody assumes this is something I have personally done. I'M JUST ASKING A QUESTION, RELAX, DON'T TAKE IT SO PERSONALLY.

Dont mind these people they are closed minded
I think you are right if they dont do their job why cant we sue.
I dont think they are held liable though but why arent they kicking in doors and arresting rapist oh cause they are to busy writing me a ticket because I left my car on the street overnight or up the street at the pizzaria getting free food when you find out let me know

The only way you could sue is if you know the law well enough to know that this officer did not meet his/her requiremements, and even then, the law allows for error factor with public citizen employees.
You aren't that unforgiving, are you??
Imagine having a job that everyone you come across hates you, unless they need you to get them out of a jam.
I'd hate that

I think your question is a good one. I assume you would be able to sue them, don't know if you'd win though. There are police officers in my area not doing their jobs to protect and serve, if I could sue the *ssholes, I would.

I intended a detailed answer to this one until I read it in it's entirety. It appears you just wish to bash the police because you probably believe you were "wronged" by them. I'll answer it briefly instead. FYI. Anyone in the USA can sue anyone for anything, without the guarantee of success. 2 points.

If I were a victim of a home invasion, does that mean I can sue the police because they weren't here to ensure it didn't happen?
Gawd, what an idiot. You will thank a cop one day.

Because all Police are psycic and can predict when and where, the next crime will occur and to whom it will happen - I say sure fire them - Most cities have too many police now anyway - its like having your own private one to one security force...
This question was a joke right?

Sure you can sue, but don't yell harrassment when you are "victimized" by the cops. I mean the largest gang in the country the gang of blue.

Dont whine about it. Do something. If you feel you have been less protected than you deserve write a letter or form a protest.
