Ok, Here is the thing I have been married for 13 years and with my wife for 15 years.

I am only 30 and she is 31 when her and I got married it was simple.

Her and I have talked about renewing our vows and having some what of a bigger wedding the kind that most girls always dream of and well I myself want that same kind of wedding. I want to be able to be standing there looking back at her as she walks down the isle in her gown and all that.

I want to ask to be my wife again from the proposal to the planning of the wedding and all that.
I want it to be everything she ever dreamed.

So I was wondering if any of you ladies could give a guy some suggestions as to what would really captivate the heart by way of a second proposal.

First of all I’d like to thank everyone that has commented.

I still to this day love my wife more than I can even express in the mere form of words. So having a second wedding or renewing our vows is important to me as well as it is her.

Doing this wouldn’t be to try and replace the memories of our first wedding by any means but to enhance the rest of our lives.

Some have suggested going back on our first date, would be great if our first date was a bit different than what it really was. For the simple fact it was my wife myself her mom brother and uncle all went to McDonalds and to the movies, they all were behind us sitting throwing Popcorn and candy wrappers at us. So yea it would be humorous to say the least.

Although, I had a silly Idea about trying to get on a talk show and doing it. …with the movie we watched on our first date. “Robin Hood”. Or just having our song from that movie playing “Every thing I do I do it for you” By Bryan Adams.

Again thank you for your suggestions keep them coming. …

How romantic! Just the thought of it is so wonderful :)

I would suggest picking a place that is very near and dear to the both of you. That could be a fast food place or a park or a 5 star restaurant. Just as long as it is a place that means something to the two of you. I would recommend proposing there.

OR, pick a place that your wife has always wanted to go to. Be it a restaurant or a tourist location. That is how my fiance proposed and it was soooo special! I never expected it.

Another idea is to propose on the same day that you proposed to her the first time.

Does she have an engagement ring already? Or just the wedding band? Either way, if you can afford to, I would suggest enhancing either (or both) rings by adding another ring to the set. If you go to any jeweler he/she would be able to help you with that. It would complete the entire event. New proposal, new wedding and new ring. It would be so romantic :o)

Congratulations on making it 13 years after getting married quite young. That's so unusal nowadays - it's obvious you both love one another very much!

AAAAWWWWWW
That is so sweet and romantic!

Location:
Can you take her to the spot of your first date?
How about where you proposed to her the first time?
Does she have a favorite restaurant?

Proposal gift:
Does she have an engagement ring from before? If not then buy her one now. If she does, is there a way to add another ring to it, like a wrap, guard, or enhancer. An extra ring to bring out the existing diamond may be a great way to give her another ring without replacing the one she has.
If a ring isn't what you are looking for, or not in your budget, try another piece of jewelry, like a pendant.

Then say what's in your heart when you propose. There is no chance of her turning you down, unless you can't afford it. She loves you, she already agreed to spend the rest of her life with you, and she knows that you two wanted a big wedding later on. Let her know that she is still beautiful, desirable, and everything you want in a woman.

Good Luck!

This is not a good idea. It is wonderful that you love your wife so much! It is a fine idea if you want to renew your vows with a very simple anniversary blessing at your church, then have a small family gathering. But your wedding was your wedding. You already had it, and those should be the memories you cherish together. For whatever reason at the time, you chose the path you did and you should stick to that. You could wait and plan a celebration on your 25th, but this is definitely not a good idea.

You really don't need anyone to tell you that. Ok, look at it this way, how did you propose to your wife for the first time? Just counter what you did. If you propsed to her by a candle lit dinner for the first time, take her by the beach where you have a picnic set up with all her favorite food for the second time.

Make it something you know she will definitely LOVE, not what others will say. Your the one who knows her best and is able to satisfy her needs.

Hope you are successful in your second proposal.

Wish you and yours a lifetime time together

I think for each woman it is different. For me doing it the same way it was done the first time would be the most meaningful. I think the fact that you still love her to think through all of this and try to give her what she wants is absolutely great! Best of luck to you both through the rest of your years!

Sorry, nothing brilliant comes to mind. (I'm at work, and this job just SUCKS all of the creativity out of me!).

I just wanted to say, you are a wonderful person, husband, human being. I hope your marriage lasts this lifetime and every lifetime afterwards!

ooh, a glimmer of light: pull your inspiration from her many favorite things- flowers, foods, wine (if she likes), indoor or outdoor girl, music, scents, dress or jeans kinda girl, make-up or natural face, etc. You'll do great! Congrats & Good Luck!!

Go back to your first date with her and then propose all over again. That's what my hubby did. We went to Brookfield Zoo (just outside of Chicago) for our first date. And yes he took me back to the zoo and proposed to me right in front of the giraffes.
