Neo-Pagan (Isian Witch)
Evolution is a fact
I was not home schooled but if they start teaching ID in public school I'd seriously consider home schooling my kids.

I am baptist.
I only accept evolution to a point. And I will explain. I do not believe that we are the result of a monkey, fish, or any other animal evolving into what we are today. I believe that God created everything including a man named Adam and a woman named Eve. I believe that human life has evolved from them to adapt to changes in climate and region. I believe that medically our bodies have evolved. For example, our appendix at one time was another stomach or intestine or whatever. Now, it is just there to be there. Doesn't serve much of a purpose anymore. Some people can use certain muscles that other people cannot.(like wiggle their ears).
I was never home schooled. I attended parochial school for the majority of my education. With the exception of two years at a public school.

Perhaps you should add age to your questions. I find they taught science and its importance much more when I was going to school (20+ years ago)than now - a lot of kids coming out of the public education system don't have a clue on any science unless they plan on going to a science based career and in to college. If they only have a brief mention of evolution how are they going to accept it? The home school group around here emphasizes a "Christian education" so they aren't any better. Its the few with the advanced kids that home school as they just don't have a spot in public education that have the advantage.
(oh - I'm Pagan and was public schooled and went to college)

Evolution as a process has been demonstrated to be possible. However, as a point of fact, we are no closer to a "godless" explanaition of how the first DNA came into being now than we were when Moses was penning Genesis.
I was schooled in Parochial Schools, and attended 4 years University of Louisville. However, like any good parents, mine made sure I knew shite from shinola before I left the house every morning.

I belong to the Unitarian Universalist church, I am agnostic though. I do believe in evolution. I was not homeschooled. I have a degree in biology. I was never forced to believe in evolution but believe based on what I have learned. Many of the professors and professional colleagues that I happen to know the religous beliefs of believe in God, just not the fundamentalist version.
