any part, either with a straight right or a quick hard hook.....thats why when you fight you have to keep your hands up and your chin tucked.

The whole lower jaw transmit vibration into the skull. It is also laced with sensitive nerves.
A good snapping strike will stun a person. A good driving hit can cause a knock out.

I target the TMJ (where the jaws meets the skull) for quick strikes. I think it easier to sneak one in from the side and it is an easier target.
For the knock-out I would try to target the chin with a penetrating hit. I try to come from the ground up to make this connection because of the angle of the chin. You can't really come down on it. From the side your fist/foot has travel into the persons center line, they had already be dazed if you hope to land this. ( If the person is already dazed I have other targets I would rather take).

I

Yea I know this one. Your looking for the shocker right, looks like somebody is getting surgical with there strikes...feel free to ask me about the organ bursting punch. The spot your looking for is not limited to one area there are a few that will have your desired effect.
1. Approx. 1 fingerbreadth anterior and superior to at the angle of the jaw at the prominence of the masseter muscle
when striking (hereafter, as you undoubtdely will have to get used to seeing this spot) you will want to direct your energy straight

2. In the depression between the angle of the mandible and the anterior border of the sternocleidmastiod muscle.
when striking this one, the best way to go is to put your energy into an upward strike

The result of both of these when used to an extreme is unconciousness but when used to a controlled degree they cause immediate disorientation.
Try to also only limit the strike to a hand posture, do not use elbows or feet or knees as the impact as well as force they have maybe greater if not more or less focused. all of these attributes lead to an outcome that could equate to death so use such techniques with respect and control if your going to use them at all. Not that I'm anyones dad/teacher/master/sifu , just don't act a fool

Frank the Tank is right (as usual, pretty much, haha). The shot that you can land is better than the shot you can't. I am, however, a body man. People get so worried about getting hit in the face that they don't know to sufficiently protect the body, or don't realize how devastating body shots can be (after the Lesnar v Overeem fight, you wouldn't believe how many people I heard saying stuff like "lol, how does someone lose from bodyshots, what a loser"). A good shot to the liver can literally drop someone, it's like a conscious knockout - you're awake to feel the pain, but can't fight or function through the pain. And a busted rib can really ruin someone's fighting efficiency, so to speak. So, liver or ribs, for me.

I'm not sure what part of the jaw it is, but I just went a few days ago to my brother in laws UFC fight, its a bunch of amateurs in my area and my brother in laws sparring partner is 6'7" and fought a skinny guy that was like 5'8" and the skinny guy knocked my brother in laws sparring partner out by hitting him with a jab in the lower right jaw. Lucky was out cold for about 3 minutes.

No, don't strike the jaw. Stick the temple-That causes dizziness, and your opponent wont be able to see all that well.

its not where you hit it, its how. If you hit it straight on it will drive into the back of your nerves and vains sendign a jolt to your system and cutting off oxygen for a couple seconds. so if you can hit the m near the bottom it will drive into the back of their face. I believe thats how its done i prefer working on lower body weakness's IE. solar plexus, armpit, any place where a persons weaker because the face is to obvious!

Just get a clean hook on the lower jaw near the chin.

As long as you make the jaw slide as to tap that cranial nerve, it doesn't matter. Lights out.
