First, get some exercise during the day - your body will be more tired and your sleep will be deeper.
Next: Create a bedtime routine that unwinds you. First, cut out TV for a few hours before bed - TV is stimulating. No sugar or caffiene either for 4 hours before bed. Next, take a warm bath or shower to relax your body before bed. Drink a cup of warm milk (milk has triptophane in it and acts as a relaxant) or a glass on wine. Before you go to bed do a little meditation. Close your eyes, and for 10 minutes imagine yourself in a very quiet relaxing spot. Then sleep with pleasant dreams.
