Yesterday on TV. Dr. Phil mentioned about a couple- The guy was having a on line realtionship with other woman. So that means that if u are chatting on line almost daily with someone, that is a realtionship?

People what do u think about on line chatting? Is it a relationship??
Dr. Phil thinks so!! I tend to agree with him!!

I think it depends on what you are chatting about.
If you are talking about meeting each other and having a relationship then yea its a relationship.
But if your just talking to someone about daily life and there in never any talk of meeting or being togeather then you've got an online "friend" not a relationship.

I think it depends on what kind of chatting you're doing. I like Dr. Phil, and tend to think he's right about most things, but I don't think if you chat with different people everyday (as opposed to the same person for hours) that means you're having a "relationship", it just means you spend too much time online. If, however you are talking to the same person for hours and discuss things like "I think I love you" and "I want to meet you", and talk about attraction and sex, etc., then you are having an online relationship. Talking about things that you should be talking about with your significant other is a sign that you (or whoever) has taken the online friendship too far.

It's something. You can't talk to someone and still call it strangers, or associates. Especially when you are sharing your secrets, feelings, desires, etc...with the person.

A man talking to a woman on line like that isn't keeping it at the "hi, how are you" level after awhile. She starts to share in his fantasies, mainly because he feels that it is safe. There is no thought of cheating since he's not touching anyone (except maybe himself). I would also think that an affair in his mind and heart can be just as potentially dangerous to the marriage as actual physical contact. He could start to build this idea about the woman on the other end, whether it's true or not. It would be easy to see this unknown woman as everything he always wanted, and doesn't have at home. She isn't there to nag, b*tch, yell, argue, or make him feel anything other than perfect.

Reality is never as pleasant as our dreams, and it's easy to dream when you don't have to face them over coffee and breakfast every morning.

I've got some friends of the opposite sex that I chat with daily, and may go for months without seeing. Yeah, it's a relationship, a friendship. I miss them if they're not there.

Relationship is a very broad term. The better question is whether this online relationship constitutes an affair. If the guy is betraying the first relationship by partaking in the online relationship then my answers is yes.

well I would agree with that

Anytime you talk to someone and share your day or thoughts with that someone you develop a relationship.

The real question is how do you tend to direct your relationships on here do you have friends or lovers.

Do you include these relationships with your wife, girlfriend, family or keep them a secret this often depends on your character and the level of your integrity

its a virtual situation that has no real meaning and if it stays that way then it can be something that might help make you feel better without actually having the rely on the supplementary presence of another human...

I wouldn't call it a relationship, maybe a friendship or something like that.
